Damn...

[QUOTE=UncleDavid218;11264623]First off, excuse the sleepy eyes. They were like that due to my HID retrofits. That has since been fixed so they're up at full height now.

Always a work in progress. Right now it just needs to be tuned and a few other little things. Alas, it's about winter, so I won't be driving it until next year.

WISH MY PAINT & ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS THAT PRETTY!

My first rx7, my first real body project, loved these cars for years and couldnt pass this deal up. when i seen this car for the first time it was under a car cover in a guys yard around the corner from my house. i asked to see if he would sell it and when he told me it had major body work to be done i was really reluctant on buying it. but when he pulled the car cover off and i noticed how spotless everything else was i had to have it. it took me a couple min to realize that it was not an ordinary s4 and he pointed out the gold badge! this is 24 years old and the bolts still shine like new, the motor runs like a top. the under body is rust free and the 10th anniversary goodies are still all here! i NEED to restore this back to its glory add my personal touch and keep this car forever, maybe pass it off to my son when hes older..

sorry shes a little dirty right now the paint is in immaculate shape..just cant really hose it down right now and these were taken right when i got it home...wish i would have got some of the interior but its 80% out already and its only been home for 2 days! haha got to get this roof fixed...

Your really gonna take the time to fix it? That looks like a bargin bin for a total makeover-swap into a rolling chassis... (Which is an amazing find, btw)

(I doubt it will drive the same... My M3 got into a major accident, they decided to fix it and promised it would be the same car... Fast forward to now... me here... making this post.... owning an rx7 )

Woah woah woah everyone! I didn't buy this car for 5k 3k or even 2k...I picked it up for an amazing deal. It's completely worth the drive train alone. Up here in mi it's hard to find a t2 to begin with and even more hard to find one without salt damage or one that's been raped and drifted into walls. I have no idea where I am going with this car. But I would wanna try to salvage the bottom half at least..only because its a true 10th ae and that may not mean much to some of you but to me a great find! If I can't salvage it in anyway or it's going t cost me another 5k to fix it ill fly down to Florida an buy a clean roller... I'm not scared to get my hands into it and swap it all over. Just trying to keep a little rx7 history alive. Sorry.

I'd highly recommend swapping everything over to a clean roller. I wouldn't even know how to begin fixing that. Sucks that it's a 10AE.

EDIT: Y'know, it might just be possible. How bad is the rest of it, besides the roof/pillar? If the underbody and stuff isn't knocked out of alignment it might be salvageable. Either way, I wish you luck.

btw the chassis was untouched. the frame looks straight and in tact. im having a professional come take a look soon and will keep you all updated, but thats where i am going from there..the interior is still useable if i have to swap it, just minor things such as the rearview mirror is ruined and the drivers side a pillar cover. most of the interior is already out cause me and my friend started tearing into it.

Also a panel beater (don't know what yall call em, auto body repairer I suppose is more accurate) I tend to agree. Anything is fixable with time, money and effort but I would not want to touch that as a job.

And aren't those rims borbets

No idea on what the rims are ill dig into that a little more. May part with them to get something a little more current. But that's down the road. Like isaid I picked this car up for a steal. The roof sucks but it's a project for me. If this guy coming over doesn't like it and says just swap everything I'm already 40% there with having most of the interior stripped. The roof looks to me like it can be chopped but I'm not an expert. And like I said too... Finding a clean roller in Michigan is damn hard to find

yes. "anything" is repairable. but I believe he said this is his first experience with bodywork! The quarters on these cars are brazed to the roof and rear panel.. plus all the sectioning you would have to do with all the inner a pillar and roof structure is not something a newcomer would want to attempt
