pic request: wrecked FCs

On Monday, my FC was hit by a speeding truck. The truck took out most of the front of my car. It ripped the wheel out along with my struts and springs. From witnesses and a bit of memory, my car was also sent spinning 3-4 times.

Insurance has yet to come take a look at the car. I have liability insurance therefore if I'm found at fault I won't get a penny. I've loved cars ever since I was a little kid and I saved up since I was 12 to get a car when I turn 16. The car happened to be a 1987 Rx-7 and I immediately fell in love with Rotaries. Since I've had the car, I didn't spend money on clothes or other things that my peers spent money on, I ate at home to save money, any money I came across from working or selling things I'd spend on my Seven. I've invested over 5000 dollars into this car including the car itself. And I can't even count how many hours my friends and I have worked on it. This may not seem like a huge sum of money but it's all that I've had. In a matter of seconds, a speeding driver took that all away from me.

What pisses me off besides the fact that I might not be compensated is that these guys are total thugs(there were 3 people in the car). After the accident, they called up 5-6 family members or friends to the scene of the accident to "back them up". I was standing there alone besides my car that they completely wrecked and they're there rolling 10 deep as if I was going to start something. Their tank of a F150 is completely fine. The cops came and I called my dad up. When we were exhanging information, they refused to give us their insurance information and the police officer said that they did not have to. We ended up giving them all our information and we ended up with none of their's. They probably want to milk as much insurance money from me as possible and screw my insurance rates for years. I take this route to school everyday and I don't make mistakes. These people were speeding and when they saw my car already in the intersection they sped up trying to squeeze by me but instead hit me. They told the police they were going 30MPH and it was a 40MPH zone. Witnesses there and the damage to my car says otherwise. I will use this lie against him in court and this is where you guys come in.

I need pictures of FCs from similar accidents. If you are the owner of the vehicle, please post the details of the crash including what kind of car hit it and at what kind of speeds. This person was speeding and made NO effort to stop, I need help proving this!

if he hit me any further back he would have hit the driver door directly and I probably wouldn't be here typing this thread. They destroyed my car that meant so much to me and now I might end up getting screwed over by it!

Here are some pictures of my car after the accident.

thanks for all your help guys!

If witnesses agree with you you hopefully should be okay. Good thing you're safe and I'm sorry to see your FC like that. I thought in CA you HAD to exchange insurance information...especially since there was more than $750 in damages and a police report was made.

sucks man, sorry about your car, glad that you're alright though. Nice job calling on the internet to help out though, if they can get back a laptop and an xbox 360, and help a guy find his stolen nissan skyline and get the criminal arrested, i'm sure we can help out here! good luck, hopefully someone will have something to help you out.

Wow, that totally sucks bro. I, for one, know exactly how you feel. All of my money has gone to my 7 since I have bought it. I used to buy clothes and things for myself until I decided to start putting money into it and stopped buying anything else for myself, just food and soap, deodorant... If that were me though, I would have probably been arrested for assault... I have dealt with those kind of people before and I know they were probably speeding and said "this guy isn't going to cross before me" then decided to hit the gas, and... well, you know... I hope everything turns out to be alright, cuz I know this won't be an easy fight.

wow, I can't believe a police officer would tell you that they don't have to give you their information - because thats' 100% wrong.

I've had a similar situation where after an accident the douche brings 10 other buddies there to confirm his story, but I just told the cop that none of them were actually here.

Nothing bad will happen if there's a police report and other witnesses. You shouldn't even NEED pics to prove that they were goin more then 30mph. Any dipshit can look at that picture and tell you they're at least going 50 when they hit you car, they streched the driver's side quarter panel, its not a love tap

best of luck to you and stick it to those mother *******!!

Damn, sorry to hear that Rock. You're car was always clean and well kept. I do hope you get those guys, but my first 7 was reason why I never fully invest all my $$ into my car. Its just one of those lessons that you have to experience it to learn it. Best of luck...

It's depressing enough to see a wrecked fc. But to know that they're trying to screw you is just ludicrus. By the evidence provided and witnesses, it looks like you should win the case.

Was he speeding through a red light? Looks like you got side swiped?

Get a copy of the police report. They have to include both parties contact information and insurance information on there. Looks like they are trying to screw you.

meh, it will buff out

haha had to to it... but on the real...

^^ do wut he said. thats right. And just by the pics you can tell they were haulin ***. For one, they somehow ripped you strut+wheel from your car. 30mph wont do that. Just be calm and present all your info correctly with proof and they cant do anything about it from the looks of it.

P.s. If u part out can i get the rear struts??

Yup, I'm parting out once this is all over, but right now I'm not even touching the car.

The guy floored it into me. I was already in the intersection. I did not enter the intersection while he was approaching. I looked both ways before entering the intersection and I safely entered the intersection. I have witnesses to prove this; my friend and his father was right behind me when this happened. There is a slight curve coming towards this intersection so there is a certain distance before I cannot see any incoming cars. This is usually not a problem because for a car that was doing the speed limit or anything near it, it would take it a while to cover that distance. These guys came speeding towards me (50+) thinking that they can squeeze pass me even though I was already in the intersection trying to get to the other side to complete my left turn. They obviously did not make it and smashed into my car.

I'm just waiting patiently as insurance does their thing and we hire a lawyer. I'm sure there will be a lawsuit and hopefully I get the compensation I deserve.

Thanks for the concern everyone, like I said before, the truck was very close to smashing right into the driver's side door. But right now I could use some pictures

magus: thanks, I'll check out the pictures.

here is a couple more pictures of the damages. You can see that they moved the whole front end of the car. There is damage even on the right side of the car.

I am very unsatisfied with the police officer at the scene. He saw that I was a teenager and I was driving a sports car and assumed I was completely at fault. When taking my report he didn't seem to even care, and when I told him that truck was speeding at me he said "there is no evidence of this." I think this is pretty ******* unprofessional of him to say this while taking the police report, and I think my car is good enough evidence. Then he proceeds to take the other party's report and he takes a long time and does it carefully. He also did not help me get the insurance information of the other party. I couldn't even get their license plate number because the officer told them to move the truck to the other side of the road. My dad came to the scene and ask the officer about this but he just told my dad to wait 5-10 days for the police report.

I hate this prejudice. I'm a teenage driver, but I've driven this route and taken this intersection hundreds and hundreds of times, I know what I am doing. I can control my car better than most people on the road!

damn dude...sorry about this whole situation you're in...and that cop is fucked for pulling some **** like that...is he appearing at your court hearing? if he is...make sure when you're telling your side of the story, tell the judge exactly what the cop did and how unprofessional he was..and give him that "you ******* bitch, i'm gonna kill you" look while you tell your story lol...don't be nervous. btw..where in eastbay are you from?...i live in antioch. and that hit looked like at least 45mph+! good luck with everything man, hopefully things will turn for the best. -JP

You'll be fine. There is no way anyone will believe that they were only doing 30mph when they hit your car, unless they are blind in which case they would not be looking at all...

Get a lawyer, and YOU will be the one milking THEM for every penny! Nothin' like egg on someone else' face!

I had what I would assume to be a similar accident. I was hit by someone that didn't stop at a stop sign coming around a blind corner in a older jeep Cherokee. I was making a left turn. I think that they were going somewhere around 25 at impact. The impact bent my shock causing the tire to rub on the shock body, and tore up the fender but didn't do any chassis damage. The wheel was cambered about 5 degrees, had minor damage and the fender obviously had to be replaced. In these pictures, I had already pulled the fender back out slightly so the car would be mobile.

i would have been arrested for tellin the cop that if he was going to be an *** about it he could wadel his fat *** back to his retarted car and go back to the donutshop and i would find an officer capable of performing there duties in a professsional maner. also almost anyone drving an F150 drives like an idiot(just a observation most F150 guys around here think they own the road cause there truck is"biult ford tough".)that was obviously a 45+mph crash if someone says it isn't they need to be beaten to death with a fishbat.

a few shots I got from a witness that was at the scene taking pictures:

as you can see from my tire marks, I had already entered the intersection safely. The driver of the truck made no attempt to stop (no brake marks whatsoever), and tried to maneuver his truck around my car at full throttle.

calling for backup yo!

finally gave an official statement to my insurance today. all I need to do now is wait. Once insurance tells me whats up, we'll decide if we want to take legal action or not.

All the witnesses are very cooperative and all of them can testify to my side of the story. We'll have to see what happens. Like I said before, I really just want the compensation I deserve. This car meant a lot to me and this accident took that away and almost my life too.
