Oxidation: Before and after pics.

I'm currently going over my car and getting all the oxidation off and hopefully bringing some shine out of it. Anyone got before and after pic's showing off their hard work with the buffer and some rubbing compound for inspiration?

That's before. I'll have some after pictures this weekend when I get some more terry cloth bonnets for the buffer. I don't want to post anymore till it's done.

You would be surprised. With the appropriate choice of buffing compounds and wax you could resurrect that paint job easily. I'll be checking back for those after pics.

Ditto- I might need to redo some paint as well. Wanna see how it turns out for others. Good luck with the buff job.

I got the first layer done. We're going to go over it again this weekend with some better terry cloth bonnets since the one's we had were kinda shot. It looks a lot better.

That looks like 5A blue?
If so, then good luck...

I've got a 5A blue FC, and if the oxidation gets beyond the clear, no amount of work is going to get it shiny.
The color base coat turns to dust when it oxidizes, and it's easy to cut it down to the primer.

It's shiny again, I just have to go over it again so it's worth taking pictures of.

I decided i'm gonna spray bomb it flat black. The bumper and fender are fuxxed so I'm going to get suitable replacements and redo the whole car in black so it matches. There's a black aluminum hood down at the junkyard so that's gonna go on too. I'm just waiting for a half off day
