out with the vert, in with the 10th AE

Wow, that was in rough shape. It looks quite a bit better after you spent some time cleaning it. My TII is in rough shape currently as well, and I know what a chore it is to try to fix something in rough shape.
Bring it back to life and keep up the good work!

I moved the 10th AE over to my brother's house last night since my garage is full of bikes and he has a $150 86 base model that we will use for parts. It will receive plenty of love in the future. We are also planning on doing the initial buildup under the GRM challenge rules as we may make a trip all the way out to Florida with it to participate. There are usually a handful of RX-7s competing but a vast majority of them have been treated to a small block v8 transplant. This should shake up that status quo a bit. So...with that in mind...if any of you have VERY CHEAP parts to donate to the buildup I will be sure to give all credit due and be forever thankful.
Without further ramblings, here is its home for awhile.

If it is a 10th AE hatch then I will take you up on that offer. It may be a few weeks before I will have the time to run up there but I would make that trip for one.

good job on starting to bring this one back!! mine was worse when i got mine but the 10AE is the 7 that i've always longed for so i wanted to restore it to oem specs. here's my thread: https://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-294/my-10th-anniversary-project-not-56k-friendly-720132/ it may give you some ideas for your restoration. great job on rescuing it. i have all of the 10AE specific part numbers to order new dealer parts. most 10AE specifics are no longer available from the dealer...especially the glass...

I did some wrenching on this yesterday. I got the ignition replaced, pulled the seats, door panels, most everything under the hatch. Did some more cleaning of glass and pounds upon pounds of dirt. And some random other little stuff. Pics will be coming soon. It is nice that a vast majority of what I need will end up being available in the $150 parts car.

...Even better, just drill small holes in the corners of all her windows and see how long it takes to realize where her utility bill keeps going up....or just lay some nice rotor-shaped pieces of balogna on each body panel of her car while she's @ work ![Evil Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smiley-evilgrin.gif)
For real though, nice save, keep us updated on the buildup!

I wouldn't doubt it. It did come from lubbock. My brother and I were originally going to build it into a GRM challenge car but now it has a higher calling of donating parts to the 10th AE.

Nice work sir.
I'm finishing up an overhaul on a 10AE myself (for a friend). Redid every inch of wiring, new cooling system, new fuel system (front to rear), relocated battery, all bushings + camber bars + DTSS elims + diff bushings and a clutch. What a job.
Thanks for keeping another one alive!

I can't believe it took me this long to stumble onto this thread. (I'm the guy he traded the vert for the D21 & SVT). Time for some updates Bradley!......wait.....not until after you pick up the SVT!

Yeah, it has not received much love recently due to all of the other house and vehicle projects going on right now. Unfortunately once I pick up the CSVT it will be fighting with the Dart and the CSVT for project loving. Add in that with everything else that is going on and it will be a slow process. BTW, I am working on trying to figure out a way to get the time on Saturday to pick up the CSVT still I will try to give you a call soon to talk about it.
