Official FC with HID Thread

I think FC with HID deserve there own thread. Anyhoo, I know that Icemark have a thread on HIDs in the archive section showing the difference between DOT legal housing, cheap ebay housing, ebay projector housing, and European Standard housing.

I have an European Standard housing, note this not legal and I do not advise using these on the street. If you do, do it on your own risk.

Specs:

Cibie H4 200mm housing without the European parking light built into the housing. They are SAE and E2 standards.

KG-Imports HID H4-3 (Bi-xenon with telescopic motor to switch it from Lo to Hi beam) 6000K Digital Slim Kit. - I decided to keep my kit since no one wants to pick it up.

Look how much brighter these lights are!

Low exposure shot. You can see the cut off on the E2 Standard housing

Different angle shot

Disclaimer
There is no such things are legal HID kit, even if your kit say its DOT legal. It is illegal unless your vehicle is equipped with them from the factory. You can have DOT legal housing and DOT legal Ballast/Kit, it is still not legal due to the fact that most housing is meant for Halogen cut off and not HID.

Please Feel Free to Post your FC with HID on it.

For my HIDs im using Hella 90mm Headlamp projectors
http://www.myhellalights.com/halogen...p_Module.html#

I am also going with a 8000k low application, but i havent decided if i want to also add the high beam application as well.

Im also looking for amber LED surrounds for the lamps to act as driving lights.

Can't wait to see how they look once everything is on. I wonder how the cut off will be.

you can always try 4300K which is as close to Halogen color. They are still bright.

The higher the temperature is, the more blue it gets, and the less light output you get. IMHO I think 5000K is the way to go.

Meh, I've never had a problem with people talking **** about my HID's. They're 1000% better than stock lights, so anyone saying otherwise is retarded. Here's a shot I happened to take of mine the other night after I was done working on my car.

It looks like **** in this picture because I was using my crappy sidekick LX camera.

This is from Hella H4 housings with an O-Nex HID 4300k kit. The housings are like $100 or whatever.

I've been wanting to get some HIDs for my car. I really can't see at night with the old headlights in there right now. My only concern is with the beam pattern blinding oncoming traffic. I absolutely detest the lifted trucks and cars with poorly aimed HID lights. I don't want to be that guy.

What H4 housings have you all used? Do they provide good cut offs?

majority of the headlights sold in teh US will be decent, but not hte china ebay ones since they may not have the right LHD light pattern. I had some jdm raybrig housings in my old car, they had some awesome light output but it was for RHD, but still i never seen any housing to come close to it.. I got Autopal lamps in my FC and i think these things arent that good. But im comparing them to my raybrigs which had clear lense.

I love the hids, but I need to pick up some new housings. I have the Autopal housings also and I don't like them either. My older set of cheap ebay housings had better cutoff. I'm going to order a set of Hella's or maybe even a pair of Cibie's. I'm also going to order a set of 4300k bixenon bulbs. I have a pair of 6000k hi/lo's and the high beams suck real bad.
