Nah, I think the guy layered it several times, cause the effect is DEEP!
I've seen the Saran wrap techniqued used on another car, and it's not the same.
In pics they might look similar, but this green FC had a real deep effect to it if you seen it in person.

Oh, are you talking about your Rx7's?

BTW, I LIKE the side perspective of the white car you posted... But I have "no taste" if I don't like some ugly, hybrid headlights?

Please...

i guess i'm just into wide fenders, and wheels with lip... both of these accentuate the factory wide body style of the stock rx7..

i posted up my car because it's not stock, doesn't appear to be stock, and i wanted share my projects with everyone on here... maybe give some people different ideas of how an rx7 could look, instead of the plain jane stock looking 7 with wheels... nothing against anyone that likes that style... but i just like having something a little more unique. if u don't like it.. that's koo.. no harm no foul.. it's just no one really likes to hear some random negative bs .......and ****..

Quote:
Does anyone else think (like me), that the FARTHER you stray away from the stock body-lines, the UGLIER the FC becomes?

For example, I think the 'half pop-up/half projection' kits look TERRIBLE! Like an older 300zx

Personally, I am with BoostinmyS5 on this one... I much prefer the look of both of his cars over Erikseven's. I'm just not into the civic-style wheel on his car. Oh well.

[flamesuiton]

I was surprised to read those Work's are 18's.... look like 17s in the pictures. Do you know anyone that carries those SSR Mesh? Or anything similar, I have been looking for a while.

Damn BoostinmyS5, stop posting pics of your car, it's making me jealous!!

Nah, seriously it's cool. Here in Aus your car would be very warmly recieved as it's modified in a way that is popular down here. We seem to love Jap Spec mods (almost as much as ol' school rotors).

Your car is pretty much spot on in terms of how I want my car modified. Obviously not exactly the same as yours but in a very similar style.

I love it!!

I'm just saying...behind my passenger seat I have a HUGE fire extinguisher that I can grab at any time. That little one isn't going to do anything. And now that I read back ont eh thread:
The stock lines on our cars are pretty damn nice...I like the look of a little flare on the fenders like Boostinmys5's..nice subtle 20mm...now when you see the guys with HUGE *** 100+ mm widebodys...I think those are ugly. I personally love my pop ups and would never trade them in for inset...

edit: how much for the wheels?

heh... What can I say? I'm not a fan of my wheels either... They're heinous and heavy. Although I will say, the FC has very large wheel-wells, so the benefit to a larger wheel is that it 'fills it out' a little better than a smaller wheel and detracts from any imperfections in the body...

Also, the mods that I've done to my car have been at little cost. Therefore I'm able to put 95% of the money into performance.

BTW, I got my wheels for $400 with tires, shipped from NY two years ago... If I had a choice and the $ to back it up, I would get a wider, better looking wheel (IMO, of course)

I remember one of the 1st things I looked for, when I was a n00b to this sight was, what bodykits are available for the 7. I'm glad I've "graduated" from that class...

What I'm saying is, my priorities have changed.

Also, remember, it wasn't ME who posted up my car as the best looking 2nd gen., it was someone else... AND, I get a PM almost EVERY DAY from someone either complimenting me on my car, or asking what front-bumper it has! Seriously.

I'm stoked to say that my bumper is just a 'tweaked' s4 with a $100 lip.

I thought I'd post a couple pics. My mates FC (the white one) is the cleanest FC I've ever seen. It's immaculate. And the blue one is mine, which scrubs up ok for pics. Mine will change in time, but I've only had it a few months!

Ok, I'm analyzing this here...

I like seeing S2-13BT's pics A LOT. And I think I've realized why...

I believe it's because I feel like I share something in common with another person who's kept the *original style +* look... Not necessarily because it's like mine, but because I feel that our passion and interest into Rx7's is more than just skin deep.

There's a lot of people who just jump on the bandwagon...

N/A's with TII hoods, sleepy headlights, drifting etc... It's hard to tell who's "in it" for real.

The reason why Carl Byck's car is so cool, is because you KNOW he's actually into Rx7's, for real.

I think one thing that makes my car, and alot of others really special is that we built them. we did not drop them off at a shop, hand them a blank check, and say I want the wildest FC, they built them(as did I) in their garage with their own hands. I know there are some amazing JDM and US shop cars, but they cost MANY tens of thousands to build. As far as the flares, there are other ways to get the flares if TP has none, contact me, and I'll give you some sources. Expect that you will need to be able to fabricate/fiberglass/and engineer to make them work right. Doing 95% of the car myself, the car still cost close to 20K. That said, I am able to run with 125K Porsches driven at the amatuer level(ie not Grand Am, or Cup drivers, but the same cars without the Pro drivers). Here is a link to a page, double click each image, dynos are there as well. I recently made 532rwhp@24psi, and am running ~480rwhp@~20psi on the road race course, stay tuned http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/member...tos&car_id=562
My vote is for everyone who pours their heart and soul into their FC. Later, Carl

I was not saying that your car is ugly, by any means... my taste in FC's is pretty much the same. Stock body lines, lowered on some wheels. The extent of my exterior plans call for wheels and coilovers (which are hardly an exterior mod).

Your car is very clean, and you are obviously into it. I was just stating I'm not into the wheels.

alright i'm taking this personal... <edited or flaming>
i've had 7 rx7's all different styles and looks... my current 7's are 1: daily driver ...n/a with YES a tII hood, which looks a LOT better than a body kit car with no tii hood, tv, dvd, full system etc.. it's a daily driver gotta have kooshy comforts... and yes it does sport sleepy eyes, cuz again, it fits the STYLE of the car... something u OBVIOUSLY DON'T HAVE WITH YOUR $400 FWD RIMS.. oh BTW the snotty nose kid with the beater civic called.. he wants his rims back... and 2: DRIFT CAR, fully caged, stripped, gutted of all hvac ****, extra trim and other bs.. tein drift spec coils, camber links, pillow mounts, dtts bushing, poly bushings everywhere, super angle kit, mazdaspeed 2way diff, not to mention it started out as a gxl... also has hks tmic, hks bov, hks twin power... along with other mods i don't have time to discuss.. also i race or drift my car almost every weekend... i have 4 events that i'll be attending in the next 6 weeks.. so if that isn't IN IT, i don't know what is...

so if you've got some **** to say about people u don't know, not being IN IT.. go tell your mom or someone who cares.. cuz no one here does...

and furthermore, if you think i'm just jumping on the bandwagon check your head, I'M A CAR ENTHUSIAST, i've owned many different cars, and recently in the past 5 years have owned several 7's, which i have enjoyed modding and personalizing. I went to an automotive school as well as a 4 year college, and have modded cars since i was 14, i got tired with piston engines so i thought i'd davel with rotaries, which has been fun.. alright i'm done... almost... sorry about this pissed off post, i just don't take someone saying i'm not IN IT very well.. especially after i bust my *** with this last car that i've built...
