Not getting electric unless

So I stopped to get gas today and when I tried to start my car again it was getting 0 electric at the turn of the key. Nothing, no dash lights nothing in the cluster.

I tried to jump it from another car and still no electric.

Then I took the positive and went to my alternator power wire and it gets power and starts.

I also just went from my positive terminal of my battery to the alt power and it starts no problem.

Any suggestions on wheat this might be?

If you look just under the fuse box in the engine bay, there is one thick wire that has a connector on it about 6" below the box. The connectors can corrode and start to loose contact/ connectivity. Not sure if it would fix your problem but it's worth a look.

Technical questions are like Greek-Chinese in the NON-TECHNICAL AND PICTURES sub forum.

That said; did you clean the positive and negative battery terminals first? Work from most common to less likely. Have you checked anything else?

Check the main fuse. Maybe the terminal on the alternator bypasses it. I would never run battery power straight to the alternator ever again. That's a good way to melt some wires.

Try bypassing or jumpering the main relay as well. Although you should still get power to the accessories with a faulty main relay.
