New pics of my 89 TII

Still some lousy driveway pics, will take more after I put the new suspension on. I always manage to wait until twilight to try and take pics, the digicam can't decide if it's bright or dark, so they end up blurry. I'll have to go steal my friends tripod and good cam.

Looks great, nice buy. I hate how all stock S5 TII's I see are missing their stock front lips though.

Here is the original mods list:

13BT (FC3S-GTX) motor rebuilt by Pettit Racing
Street Ported with 3mm Apex Seals
Autometer™ A-pillar boost gauge
K&N™ cone filter
Bonez™ 3” Downpipe

Borla™ 2.5” stainless steel exhaust
Powerstop™ crossdrilled rotors in rear
Hawk™ brake pads
ACT™ Z65-HDSS clutch 3 months ago Recent new radiator
Recent new AC compressor

Audiocontrol Epicenter™
Fultron Little Black Bass Box™
JL Audio™ 10” subwoofer in Pro box
Precision Power™ PPI-2050 Amplifier
Fused 4-gauge wired distribution block

and here is the current one, since the old motor had 230,855miles on it, the tranny had bad synchros for 2nd and 4th, and the turbo was blown. The original blue leather seats had the stuffing coming out of the drivers seat outboard bolster from a 14" tear as well, so those were replaced too.

1989 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II
JDM 13B-T (Series 5)
Enkei 17" ZR-1's wrapped in Falken rubber
Autometer™ A-pillar boost gauge
K&N™ cone filter

Precision Power™ PPI-2050 Amplifier
Fused 4-gauge wired distribution block

oh yeah, and for the dents, there is one very very tiny door ding under the drivers sideview mirror and I think one or two on the passenger door as well. The clear has started peeling on the edges of the hood, and some ofthe paint is gone from the rear side of the the wheel arches, so she will be getting a full repaint this summer while I'm on a deployment.

Damn! Very nice find man. Do the rest of the mods and a little TLC and you're good to go.

Thanks, I'm rather partial to the white as well. I really wanted a 10th AE, but I couldn't pass up this car at the price.

I decided after work today to eliminate the rats nest, here's the days progress.

The start...

Intercooler off...

Upper Intake Manifold and Throttlebody off, rats nest still in...

Rats nest out and ready to start plugging vacuum ports...

Here is the Rats nest awaiting separation from the fuel rails and injectors.

I got all of the vacuum nipples capped off that need to be in the engine bay and on the UIM/TB before it got dark outside. I have a spare UIM and TB that I'm going to the all the TB mods to so I can see which I prefer, but that will come later. Will take more pics tomorrow as I do more work.

For now I just want to get her running right. I did find a vac leak on one of my block off plates, so that is getting redone today. My long term plans are still very rough. I'm thinking a FD power FC and the banzai kit to use it, 850's all around, fuel pump, and I can't decide which turbo I'm going to use. I need to see what kind of numbers the S5 BNR turbos are putting down, but I want good response with between 250-300 at the wheels. I also am trying to decide if I want to go fmic, or alky injection w/ the stock topmount. Suspension wise, I need to install the energy suspension bushing kit still, put on the shocks and springs, and look into sway bars. I don't plan on doing any real power adders until I've got her running right and had a chance to enjoy driving her in her near stock form. I want to get a good feel for the car and learn to drive her as well as I can before I start adding power.

Vac leaks are all taken care of, and I removed the factory boost controller along with the rats nest, etc. After driving without it, well, lets just say it's going back on today. Boost response is crap on a stock port with only an intake and open exhaust & no controller.
