My series 4 T2 FC

Hey guys, from down under

picked this up couple of months ago.
basically, its a 1988 FC S4 T2, with :

- Mild port 13B turbo
-Microtech MtX8 computer with handset
-550cc primary injectors, 1000cc secondaries
- 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with dual mufflers at the back
-18 inch mesh style wheels 265 rears
-Turbosmart adjustable boost T

Stereo:

- Sony explode headunit
-Alpine Type S 6 inch 3 ways in the rear,
-Alpine Type S 6 inch splits oin the front, with custom mounts i made
-600W Kenwood Dual voice coil sub
-Sony dual/mono block amp for the sub

Car is good, made 260hp on 12psi, cranked her up to 20psi, but screwed my tune up when i hit the handset accidently

plans are bigger turbo, holset HX50 with front mount etc etc..

body has some hail damage which is getting fixed over the next couple of weeks. here is some pics..

i understand wat max effiency is, so for an FC its 12psi? i was guessing it wuld be more towards 16-18, but fair enough. once i get the holset on it ill throw sum pics up and show it off.

wat psi shuld i get it tuned to? i dont wanna run too high boost cus i only got mazda 2mm seals, cmon rotor nuts u shuld know the answer lol kinda new to the rotary scene, but understanding it slowly..

im thinking maybe 14, with a kick of 18psi here and there (for drags)

12-14psi is it. anything higher is gonna be pushing the same as 12-14psi, or even less hp than you see.

if you want more, get a bigger turbo.

well yeh i understand that 10psi from the standard turbo will produce less power than 10psi from a larger turbo due to less air being able to flow. the holset hx50 i have going on it will be running 3 inch cooler piping.
did anyone have to remove their power steering or AC compressor to fit cooler piping? im thinking bout removing my ac compressor or all the ac gear, and have my piping run under there then up round into the plenum.
also is the steering heavy without pwr steering?

Most intercooler kits require you to relocate the battery, and remove a/c. Don't get any kits that require you to remove the bumper support, unless you don't care that its not there.

Nice car mate, love those 18" shoes. Maybe I'll see it when I'm out that way. I have a mate getting married and I am going to visit him before he moves back here.

appreciate the comments guys.
got a quote today for all the work, the guy reckons the rear turbo housing is a bit too big and might only come on boost around 4000rpm, which wont be very streetable, but when she does come on boost, hang the *** on

we determined that we would use anything bigger than a 40mm external wastegate also.

This week im buying,

-wastegate
-600x300 cooler core with 3 inch end tanks
-thermo fan 16" and **** off the clutch one

ill prob also remove the A/C ****

will get sum pics of all the gear up soon
