Arrow My s4 beater to s5 conversion-

Ok guys I have this car I bought for $650. It is an 86 s4 NA coupe with w/ a fresh rebuild. It has a bad vibration problem that I can not figure out.

Anyhow the guy that had it before me had it for about ten years. He said he bought it like this, so someone else must have done the original damage about ten years before that, like in '93 when a wing on a hood would have been cool.

I have it at my shop on jackstands and have converted everything over to new panels, s5 front and rear bumperr, taillights, and bumper trim as well as a new hood. I have my own skittle now and will take more pics when I get it out of my shop.

lol the dude had a ******* wing on the hood. And stop beating on me for it. The whole point of the thread is to show you what the car looked like when I bought it to what it looks like as I change it.

I have already done the following:

S5 tails
S5 rear bumper
S5 front bumper with fogs
S5 body trim all the way around
New hood
Replaced all red interior parts
S5 BBS vert rims
S5 shifter and radio trim

I have done all of that in the first two days I have owned the car.

I am basically doing an FC rescue operation.

Next I am going to paint it all black.

We need pics... Anyhooo, the car looks solid enough to start on.. Pretty aweful overall but the body looks straight and you have a backseat to either sell or recover.. Looks well worth the $650. Does it run welll?

bad vibration I am guessing in the driveshaft. I bet they didn't mark it when they removed it and it is out of balance... OR the transmission is not bolted securely to the chassis.. OR one of those ghetto *** wheels is out of round.

I wonder how much the backseat is worth. I mean it is dirty but once I clean it the thing is decent shape. I want to put my leather vert seats in the car and that would look silly with cloth back seats.

As far as the vibes go it does it in neutral and has nothing to do with the tranny, however when in fifth it vibes alot less.

It was rebuilt nearly 200 miles ago. I think the builder fucked the torrington bearing up.

Check the motormounts then... I bet one is broken, missing or not bolted down.

Also the rear seats with hardware are worth about $200 shipped if you clean it up.

the counterweight is attached to the flywheel as it is an s4 na. I think the guy busted up the pilot bearing putting the tranny in.

Is that a wooden steering wheel I spy? Or did that get painted as well?

Glad to hear the car is being de-riced.

De ricification is done. Now for paint.

just on a side note, the "wing" on the hood is something else. i have never seen or heard of that.

i did see a ricer truck driving around that had two spoilers.

cant wait for the pics of the car!

Why is the same ghetto chrome wheel on the red FC in the backround as the one you just bought? I hope you don't have two sets of those.... there should be none.

hell no! Lol I have a set of fno1rc's on the other side of the car and still need to order the other two so I needed something to hold the car up since I took my factory vert rims off and put them on that car.

Even though it's like 4 different colors it's looking better than when you purchased it.
