My possible wheel specs.

17x8 +35 offset front and 17x9 +40 offset going for a flush look in the fenders not fender overhang if that makes sense?

The fronts are Ok,They look fairly flush in that offset with either a 225/45 or 235/40 tire. A 17x9+40 offset wheel for the rear won't give you a flush fitment. You would need something in a +25 to +20 offset depending on the tire size. For a flush look you need to roll the lip of course.

You need at most a +35 offset for 17x9's For example, RE-Amemiya AW-7's have +34 for a 17x9 rear. Depending on how much camber you run in the rear, your offset might be more or less.

235 would fit in the front on +35 17x8 wheels? I bought Mazdaspeed wheels with +35 17x8 and +34 17x9.
I would love to have 235 in front too, but I think it would rub, at least on a stock type suspension, or could it really fit?

Arn't tyre sizes stupid

It makes me laugh how tyres are measured

First the Cross-section is millimeters
Wall height is a ratio of the cross-section
And then rim size is inch

I have 17x8 rims all round and they are flush like you mentioned the offset is 35 on all four.
Now the rims ( SUPER ADVAN's )were second hand and got then with 235 40 up front and 255 40 on the rear.

235 40 fit JUST the coil is only a few millimeters away from tyre wall, I wasn't happy with that as tyre deflection during cornering could make it rub so swapped to 215 40 on the front which look awesome (Very low profile)

The rears had loads of room but 255 is to big for 8 inch rim so gona get 235 40. I tried YOKOHAMMA prarda tyres for the frist time as well and am very impressed over COOPER which is what I have always bought before

Yeah mine do, I know exactly what you mean about flush, the standard wheels sit in too far at the rear, I could take a photo!

Brandon, you know I'm running 17x8 all around with +27 in the front and +21 in the rear... My next set of Weds are gonna be 17x8 all around as well but with +32 front and back. Plans are to have a spring/summer fall/winter wheel/tire rotation.

Just gone outside and took a pic of front n Rear

Fronts are as flush as you can get so 35 is bang on with 8 inch rim

Depends on a couple factors. What tire you are using and what stock type front spring you are using. Some tire brands are really square and large for their size ,like Kumo's.So In that case 225/45 R17's would be all that fit . Some of the aftermarket stock type lowering springs are wider then stock springs and you could even have problems trying to run 225/45's with a +35 offset.Teins and Tanabe's come to mind.

You should define flush,or do you just want a no hassel fit? I'm running a 17x9+35 with a 255/40 tire in the rear and I wouldn't call that flush by any stretch of the imagination. It looks OK but still has that sunken look in the back to me. +30 offset in a 17x8 and 17x9 would be a better looking all around hassel free setup. To me flush means some minor fender lip rolling involved.

I disagree, I had 17x8 +35 fronts with 225/45s on em, and 17x9 +35 rears with 225/45s on them as well. The backs are stretched, but if they had a bigger tire like a 255 on the rear, they woulda sat perfectly flush at +35 offset. +30 would look even better but +35 sits flush.

I'm using RS-R Race springs + KYB AGX,
tires I don't know... maybe Kumho ecsta mx, potenza re050 or hankook rs2...I haven't decided yet.

Do you have 235's on your car in the front?

i have 8inch wide's up front at +15 offset.

its a little sunk but would come right to flush with less camber or more tire..

depending on the suspension and tire size anything with a higher offest then +30ish on a 8 might hit the shock.
