Manual windows aren't that cool anyway, perhaps we should fix or cars instead of tring to escape via regression?

Why would you want manual windows? Because of the weight? If they arent working properly just fix them. Better than looking like a scrub when you have to lean over and crank the window down for some vagina in the next lane.

My last car I had to pop start it to get to work (ground issue). When I got to work and shut off the car, I looked to the right and the window was down. I was in the city and on perfectly flat ground so I couldn't get the car started. Of all the tons of college students and cops going by me, not one would help with a quick push.
Power sunroof also died open in a rain storm, and used to give me a ton of issues. Swore I would never buy a car with power anything again. The RX7 was an impulse purchase (my dream car lol).
It's honestly not that hard to roll down a ******* window, and in my opinion, outweighs having a bad time when it fails.

Anyways, I think I got the information I need. I'll might swap them over one day if I happen to come across a good donor. Maybe swapping the whole door would be easier if I get it cheap enough.
Just wanted to know if it can be done. I'm sitting here bored while my car is sitting at DentSport. Thanks guys.

both have their pros and cons. I can see why one would desire manual windows.. when my window switch failed, i was late to work, took the door panel off and hot wired the motor to close the window and drove it like that til i got another switch.
But when I had a car with manual windows, *240sx*, i desired power windows and bought a aftermarket kit and converted. Of course it wasnt anything like factory power windows . Had to cut holes in the door panels to fit the switches, but it was nice.
But honestly if your trying to save weight, that little weight won't do much. It only works if large amounts of weight are stripped from the car. And its not really worth it on a street car.
If you know your having battery/charge issues, you should really remember that you have to roll your windows up before you shut off.
Of course though when they are good lubricated manual windows, they can be pretty nice too.. Ever wind the windows up on a old american car? can be hard as hell and really suck.

I didn't like manual windows when i had an FC with them... I actually hated them.
I had my problems with power windows, but I've since gotten the upperhand (relays, switch refurb, etc) The only thing I have yet to do is figure out a replacement for that damn plastic gear that drives the 'ball chain'.

the gear is actually available separately, i think if you go to the dealership and look it up for an early 90's mpv it shows the gear, and its an rx7 part number

Take off the door panel, unplug the motor and use 2 jumper wires from a battery to roll the windows up/ down. Takes a whole 3 minutes to take off the panel, and is a ton easier than swapping the whole door.

Nice to see we still have TONS of children on the forum.. reminds me why i just dont bother with to come on this site with all the know it all noobs. But on with the point of my posting. I have considered replacing my drivers door with a manual window after watching my power window switch that mazda designed poorly actually go up in smoke..... I would like to leave the power window on the drivers side so i dont have to reach over to close it. But for those who dont know Mazda did not install relays to the motors from the switchs which causes the contacts on the high amperage switch to eventually arc out to no longer functioning. For me the manual window stops that whole possible power window failure and i kinda dont like burning hot smoking electronics in my car...
