Unless you know what you're doing, thats why he said "whiz." I work for a local print shop and we fired this guy about 6 months ago. But in his spare time he would always modify badass porsches and other super cars and change everything about them, yet still make them look real....ish. He promised he'd do one of my fc the way I have the build planned out in my head, but never got around to it. Makes me sad, haha

I don't know why in the first place you need an outline of the cars. Just ghetto photoshop the cars to get an idea of what you want.... like so (spent about 5 minutes total on all of these).

Lol, thats what I do for a living. All I did was use the magic wand tool and drew around the area I wanted to change, the car, and adjusted the curves. It's pretty easy. Like this...
Select the car.
Then go to Image > Adjustments > Curves
And select which color you want to adjust (red, green or blue)
Bumping it up brings that color range up... like so
And you just mess with those ranges to get the colors you want. You can get very technical with each of the three to get the custom colors I did. See how I only have one node selected? You can add up to 15, I usually just do 3 and you can get yourself a nice curve going on. Like so.
Easy as that.
Took me maybe a total of 15 minutes to do all of those different colors.

If you want to do it yourself, watch some youtube videos.
