well everything is in the car and works, but it doesn't look all that great, I still want to dress it up and make a lighter box, out of $$ for the moment, also want to do some neon accent lights, but we will see what the future brings...

so what i have...
pioneer, everything is pioneer
some kinda head unit, its good, 3 pre outs sub control Ipod stuff blah blah..
2 12" subs 350 rms 1400 max (shallow mounts)
2 1200w max 400 rms mono amps (visible in pics)
1 1200w max ? rms 4 chan amp (under amp rack)
1 10 farad lanzar cap (under amp rack)
1/0 power wire
front speakers are 5 1/4 made to fit in dash with tweeters near a pillars
rears are 6 1/2 with tweeters mounted on top of the speaker grills, all the tweeters face pretty much to the center of the car, really good sound
some fans for cooling and kill switches to shut it all off (cop mode if you will)

pretty damn good sounding too, I wouldn't compete but I may be able to if I really wanted to, a little dynamat and some better install time for the trunk could go a looonnggg way..

so the yellow ebrake boot was supposed to go for shifter, waste of money got it at some parts store with the shift ****, both useless.. gone now, went back to stock **** with mazdatrix short throw shifter, the cheap 20 ***** are crap, to light and the set screws really mess up the threads on the shifter

Just so everyone is clear, do this...

Then I end up with this... this is actually when I took everything back out to do the white face gages

radio is in.. this is before I was done though, have some cut off switches now
I really hate the radio kit you get at best buy and stuff but what can ya do...

and here are a couple shots of the speakers, this is before the amp rack was carpeted

here is a shot of the front DS speaker install, I went ahead and used the screws and little clip nuts to hold the grill on, then I ran 4 zip ties through the clip nut things and attached to dash where original smaller 4" speaker mount holes were..
passenger side is a little different, had to remove the amp and attached the speaker behind the trim to the metal bar thats back there, if you have ever had one apart you probably know what i'm talking about

btw.. anyone got some oem floor mats, mine = teh suck

man that box looks huge in there those subs shouldn't need that much airspace should they? i wanna go ahead and build a fiberglass box for mine trying to get 2 kicker 8 inch l7's with an kicker 750.1 for it. got an orion h2 in my truck but i think that thing would blow the rear glass out of the 7

yea the box is a little to big, i think 1.0 to 1.25 cu ft, never measured it, everywhere i went they wanted 200 plus to build a box, didn't feel like blowing the money, the speakers only require .86 for maximum performance, .5 to 1.0 is the rating, so if its 1.25 then its a little big but not that bad, i am sure they would hit harder but as of now they pound so i am in no rush to buy a box,

i really doubt the rear glass would blow, it takes ALOT of power to blow glass, unless your glass is weak already i wouldn't worry about it, beside i think the glass in the rx7 is pretty strong, that curve in the glass gives it some extra strength and i am probably wrong but i think its tempered, and from what i hear of that orion h2 if you were to push it that hard and long it would just blow anyway...

i used to have some cheaper ppi's in ther and it rattled the crap out of everything in the back. i am not so worried about he glass but more of mounts on it. i like the orion in my truck anyway. but yeah i wanna build a fiberglass box subs tucked behind the rear towers and amp rank between all in fiberglass but leave the middle in the back open to keep access to the spair

I wish the guy at circuit city had this picture when he put in my stereo. I usually do it myself, but it came free with buying the deck (minus the hookup stuff) and it was a b-day present. He ended up just ripping it out and breaking the crap out of it. I didn't even notice till the next day that it was all cracked. I was going to swap to an S5 surround anyways, but I would have liked to have not HAD to do.
