just got it about a week ago
she is a 1988 Rx7 Vert. 160k miles
guy said she runs, just needed a clutch at first.
as we started looking more and more i've found out we need a lot more parts to make it drivable on the street.
my dad is helping me out with it right now.
what do i need?
gas tank
clutch disc - got
pressure plate - got
clutch fork - getting friday
release bearing - got
air cleaner housing
mirrors
no 2 pre converter and main catalytic converter
driver side muffler
have to have the split air tube patched up, then once all this is in we will start her up.
then some new rims and tires. three of the stock bbs rims are dented. so unless i can get them fixed somehow, i need new ones.
i really liked those bbs rims too lol
still have to check everything. see if the fuel pump is fine, get a new air filter, new fluids and all that other good stuff.
its been a fun project though.
things seem to be moving forward day by day.
the thing that worries me the most about it is the catalytic converters. i have no clue where to get those.
so if anyone can provide information on that, i would greatly appreciate that.
i also ordered a gas tank from apex auto parts but they havent shipped it yet. anyone know how long that might take in a rough estimate?
i ordered it on the 28th of august and paid for it the same day. they arent that far from san antonio tx. so i'll keep everyone posted with more pictures and possibly videos when its all good to go.

You can get the mufflers at any old muffler shop. I would not really worry about the pre-cats as those are just for cleaning up the emissions while the car is warming up. The main cat is the one you want to worry about as that is the one that opens the auxiliary ports. Just make sure you get one that has the bung on the side to weld up the split air pipe. Sorry to repeat info that you might already know

My bad, meant "you can get the catalytic converters at any old muffler shop". I'd just gotten home and had not even taken my boots off yet.

That is a fair price for you, heck rolling chassis would only be a little bit less than what you paid. I looked at tons of verts in all colors and conditions for the last 6 months before getting mine.
BTW, I have all the cats off my s4 vert -- see link in signature.

lol yea a lot of my friends told me that. i just got the headlights completely fixed and i replaced that bezel already and i stuck the lights back in so its good to go. it made an odd squeaky noise that sounded like scrapping.
turned out it was scrapping on the very top part, so i hammered it out a little because i saw it was bent and now that i did that there is no "scraaape" when the lights open.
personally, i dont mind that its in rough shape. i was ready to take on a project like this and i am having a blast so far. everyday i go out there and just find something i can fix on it till i get more parts.
