ok i found an 88, i believe, T II, it has 140,000 miles on the original engine. the car has been sittin a little while, but the owner starts it when he comes into town every week or so. the paint is faded but everything on the car runs. a/c, cruise, radio, it all works fine. he has an exhaust system and thats it. he told me to make him an offer, but im not sure what to ask for it. im thinking 2000, but he told me the exhaust system was 1000 dollars. so what do yall think i should throw out there. ill try to get some pics up as soon as possible. but any type of info, would be nice.

whoa boy, i got to test drive the T II today. it was sooo nice. i found out a little more info today too. everything on the car works fine, ac is real cold. radio, cept two front speakers dont work but back ones do. but then bad is the throttle positon unit or something like that needs replaced. the car idles real rough. it was a little hard to start up. when it did the whole driveway was covered on white smoke. then the engine was a little shaky for a while, he said if i fixed the throtle thing it would stop and run smoothly.its runnig pretty damn rich too, i know our cars ar supposed to smell a little funky but his smelt pertty bad. he did let me get on it real hard on a backroad. man those tires yellin was such a nice sound to hear and that racing beat exhust sytem form the headers back sounded nice too. but from the blue book being 2500 and the 1000 dollar exhaust system he wants about 3500 for it, he said me being a previous rx7 owner and knowing and loving the whole wankel experiance, he might let it go for 2800, what do you guys think? good or should i try to get it lower????? also, are 2nd gens supposed to have power steering? his doesnt, and if they are supposed to be power then thats another reason to offer a lower price. please let me know

be careful....white smoke usually means blown coolant seals That means car will need a rebuild. TPS has nothing to do with it...TPS only controls idle...it will fix the violent shaking but as far as white smoke filling the entire area.....no that is a seal issue which means the actual car has internal damage aka bad seals. that alone is enough to get the price to drop to 2k maybe even 1800.
