I need some motivation or advice

So i have a 89 GXL with a jdm turbo swap done prior of me buying the car. It was done kinda ghetto well atleast the wiring and it runs and all. The previous owner didnt tell me it was a salvage title so i didnt know until i went to the dmv to transfer the title. but my dilema is that i have a decent motor and setup but a shitty car and i have a 88 gtu that i could swap the motor into but idk if i want to go into that hassle of s5 motor in s4 car. i also have an over boost issue and need to port my wastegate.
oh and i have a rust issue.......

best pic that does it some justice

problem
can i fix this and should i?
<a href="http://s487.photobucket.com/albums/rr231/rx7fitz/?action=view&current=IMG00119-20100417-1923.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr231/rx7fitz/IMG00119-20100417-1923.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

swap.. One good chassis, and one rotting/salvage chassis.
Then scrap or sell the rotting chassis and other pieces you dont need.

build that black one into a s5 clone with all the parts from the white chassis. then a budget paint job and your good to go.

Wow that's rusted... If its just the floor pans that are rusted, cut out and weld in new metal, using POR15 on any rust left over. But if its rotted in anything structural I wouldn't bother, as the car already has enouph strikes against it.

If you keep the motor in this car, just take the vin plate of the dash off the other car, and put on this one . I'll save everyones time regarding my last line... ZOMG NOO CHANGING VINS ILLEGALZ!!! Just don't get caught.

IMO fixing a rusted floor pan is much easier than changing the drivetrain over to another car.

And being I gave you such good insight, you could sell me that turbo hood for cheap lol.

swap seems worth it, you have pretty much everything you need... not to mention you got them nice rims to throw on the good car.. so why not just go for it?

the dash is from another car that i have and soon the doors from the same cars so they could only catch my vin from the engine bay.........im not sure if the frame is toast....also the s5 used to be auto when i do a burnout or the tires spin and im not moving fast the shifter bounces so im guessing its the mounts but im not sure if i can get new motor mounts for a custom bracket or what ever....so thats why im in a pickle cuz it seems i should swap into the black car but then its like i dont have tools and what not to do that and then i have to swap parts and ugh

^Windshields are the same on all FC's.

You shouldn't have any custom brackets anywhere... You can upgrade to solid mounts for less than $50.

Also, swapping isn't going to solve all the little problems, if anything it will amplify them.

And am I understanding you right-you have a vin/dash out of a third car??? In that case you could put the vin in the rusty turbo car, and put a motor in the s5 and have two running FC's...

BTW, you should get more detailed pics of rust, specifically underbody.

do use a favor and look underneath the rear at the subframe/suspension.. Is there any more rust? You could sell the S4 chassis to fund for repairs on this s5... Really no sense in owning 2 of the same cars if one isnt running in my opinion.

Sell the one with the salvage title IMO. Don't know about over there, but back in FL, cops LOVED pulling people over to check vins. They tell you to pop your hood and your screwed.

Also check under the battery tray. Most famous spot for rusting on FC's.

I say swap everything over. But by everything, I mean EVERYTHING since S4 wiring is different from S5. At least once you get done, you'll know everything is wired right and all the mounts are good.

Glad that **** hasn't got to wisconsin yet. Up here there's a lot of hondas running around with stolen and resold motors, so I'm surprised cops haven't caught on to checking all the vins on the vehicle.

the car used to be auto so the trans mount is custom fit the manual trans

i will get more pics today
and the s5 also has small frame damage which is why its salvage im guessing and the hood doesnt line up properly and the passanger headlight rubs agains the hood

Just do the swap. And if the previous swap was "ghetto" use this opportunity to buy a new wiring harness and do it right. I think in the long run you'll be thankful.

Also, burn that Rising Sun headband you have wrapped around the driver's seat. It makes you look like a total douche.

Yeah, well the theifs got smart about it and just started shaving the vin off the block and saying they bought it at a junkyard...

You already answered your own Q's. The salvage title car has frame damage and is a auto thats starting to rust out. You have a clean S4 with clean title ready for the swap.

At that point, its pretty easy to put 2 and 2 together.
