I got rims? Pictures.

MB Competitions

17x8 on 215/45 +20
17x9 on 245/45 +27

All on Intrax springs,

Tokickko(sp?) Illuminas on the front and KYB AGX on the rear.

Replica's are meh, but I got them on the cheap, and my tires were dying.

I want coilovers now =[, theres still too much gap for me.

Anyways, I get scraping sound under hard cornering...I don't think its the fenders on the wheel, anyone have an idea on whats scraping and how to fix it?

When I had scraping noise, it was because when I put my wheels on, I bent the brake cover guard thing, its the metal plate behind the brake rotors, those rims are pretty clean!!

did you remove that plate or just bend it back? Any downside to removing it?

I don't think this is it because I only scrape under hard cornering, unless that was your case. But I would imagine I'd hear the scrape every time the wheel rolls.

Oh, I thought they were replicas because they're not too well known and they resembled gram lights so much. Either way down the road I'm gonna upgrade to Gram Lights. Waaay down the road.

Thats the dust cover btw. Id imagine the downside is your brake rotor gets dusty?

The scraping is probably the wheel rubbing on your springs. Take off the wheels and have a look at them.

Oops, the offset of the front is actually +22. Not that it makes that much of a difference...

Thanks, when I bought them, I didn't think they would fit that flush. I'm pretty happy.

I got these from a guy in LA, theyre called MB Competitions. Pretty cheap brand new, they're not performance orientated though, theres no lightweight gains. Its actually heavier than stock, but that's because there's just more wheel and tire.

That doesn't sound good. Anyway to fix that? I'll check when I have the time.

If thats the case, how are other people running 17x8s on the fronts without scraping?

Spacers

17x8 is a very popular size, but the real key is the offset.

You're running a +20 which makes me think you're rubbing on the fenders, check the fender again and fend the fender lining too.

Uh, 42 lbs for the front? 45 for the back? Heavy =/ but it helps with ride comfort.

Tokico Illuminas in the Front, KYB AGX in the rear.

Intrax springs on all 4.

With tires then it is quite ok. If not, they are heavy as hell

With tires. Theyre supposed to be ~28 without tires for both front and rear.

These wheels are actually A-tech wheels, renamed and sold in the USA by MB wheels. A-tech is a wheel manufacturer from japan

Learn something new everyday haha. Thanks.

Anyways I found out it is the fender, on both sides that rub under hard cornering. The underfenders pretty fcked up now.

Anything I can do besides rolling the fender?

I was never really a fan of rolled fenders. =/
