Talking I get to drive an FD for a month!!!

So here is the story my sisters husband has a friend with a 93 fd thats yellow. All i have to say is its beautiful but the guy defiantely doesnt take care of it and its sad oh yeah did i mention its TURBO! But anyways he went out of town and my brother in law asked if he could borrow it while he was gone his friend said yes. So my brother has had it for about two weeks now, but him and my sister are going to NC to see his family and they need a car to drive that is where i come in i have a 09 nissan sentra. they want to borrow it to drive up there and they said i can drive the fd while they are gone. Of course i jumped on that like a fat kid on cake lol. They arent leaving till the 19 of this month so that means i would have to wait like two weeks, but i woke up this morning to a good thing. I get a call from my sister saying you want it now so i said yes yes yes lol so i am going to have the fd turbo for all of december, I am going to have some fun and ill put some pics up to its beautiful, but man the guy defiantely doesnt know how to take care of it

All FD's are turbo. Haha

Be careful though, you'd hate to wreck that and have to reimburse the owner.

I hear you...
I use to dd a stock EG civic for the last two years. It was so boring to drive, fwd sucks. Miss the automatic part though, it was nice to be able to not have to shift when your trying to eat or something while driving.

***** gone now, FC is 100% my daily now. Quite fun to drive everyday.

So Mysmokeisblue, how old are you might i ask? Also you do know that if you're going from driving an 09 Sentra to a FD that you need to understand that if you drive that thing like we all know your going to its not gonna be pretty lol. Epic ending, I think so.

I'm sensing either some tree-wrappage, or motor-poppage.

Doesn't sound like a good transition from car to car. Please definitely have respect for the car & it's owner, but not ragging it out. The "it's turbo" comment leads me to believe the OP has no idea of what he is driving & the dynamics of the car, it would suprise me if he didn't know it's RWD.

BTW what a shitty friend your brother in law is by asking to borrow a friends car to turn around & let you drive the car. Just doesn't seem right to me! Also why are you posting about an FD in the FC section?

I see craigslist posts like this from people who have NO clue what they really have.

Don't screw up your relatives car. I'm screen shotting this thread to show later if you do mess it up.

Roll in it, don't race in it.

Other than that, cool that you get to drive the Rotary flagship.

Yeah that seems kind of shady, unless he notified the owner first. Have fun, just don't crash it or blow it up.

yeah automatic is good to eat and drive the other day I stoped at taco bell and got a soda, I had no clue how I was getting home with no cup holders and driving a stick shift with manual rack I placed the drink on the rear of the passanger seat, slided the seat back and wraped the drink with a spare coat to keep it from spilling and granny drove home. You can't have that much fun with a new car.

all i gota tell you man is get used to driving the car before you get on it

the FD has a very very specific driving style, i had a significant amount of track hours (road racing, not drag racing) under my belt in a turbo 350z, and a 500 hp s15...the FD is a completely different animal

dont get me wrong, it is by a great length a better track car than the both of cars i was tracking before, but you need to get to know the car before you push it, otherwise it'll eat you

take it easy and dont screw up someone elses car, cus thats probably whats going to happen

oh and btw if it doesnt have a good set of sticky tires (none of that nankang, falken fk-series, etc.. bulls*&t) then DO NOT push the car because it will be super tail happy and you'll end up as part of a tree

good luck! and please please dont screw up the FD, very very very expensive to fix

You gotta put the drink in between your legs when you drive. cup holders ruin the sports car look imo, Only have whats necessary. Oh and you shouldn't be eating in there either. at least I don't

I always tuck mine in between me and the seat belt. But I'm pretty small and slide around in seats.
