I turn 25 in July. I bought my first rx7, 90 gxl, when I was 18; it was my brother's car and had blown coolant seals. Had it for two years.
Since that one I've had a 86 sport, 91 vert, 90 vert, 84gsl, 2 87 gxl's, and then a lot of piston cars; 944, 240sx,civic, nx1600, 325ci, 2 miatas, and a few others.
Story time below this line.
I had been working at a Toyota production plant in Princeton, Indiana on the assembly line. They make the Highlander, Sequoia, and Sienna. Had just bought an 87 gxl as a winter project car and then totaled my 325ci (someone pulled out in front of me and crossed both lanes of traffic). Fractured 2 vertebrae, had a heart attack while on bed rest, and lost my job.
Did the only reasonable thing once I was allowed out of bed; pulled my engine and fixed a blown front cover o-ring. Drove it until this last Christmas when I sold it to help my parents out with bills. I sold it for 400 dollars and made it clear it was in bad shape and needed a rebuild.
Two weeks later I regretted it and watched craigslist for the kid I sold it to, to re-list it. He just listed it this morning and he's asking 1600 dollars. The engine is fucked, it has rust, interior isn't in great shape, needs paint, etc. So now I'm pawning off **** I own to buy back my car since I still haven't had the insurance company settle for my accident.
TLR I fund my rotary hobby by living in poverty. Once you are addicted it is hard to get away.

I'm 22 just bought my first Rx-heaven and I love her. I'm currently a drafter at an electrical firm but I plan on getting to engineer level soon. I love the rotary, car culture and the community.

32y, Esq, from Italy. The FC has always been my dream car, and I have been searching for about 7 years for an unmolested FC Tii RX-7, while waiting I have been lurking on the forum in hope of preparing myself for the day I find my precious.
January 2015 I finally found my dream car, one owner (was born in 1932), arctic silver, 80.000km. Zero rust, always been driven with summer plates. The previous owner really loved it.
Finally got the car transported from Germany to Italy; once it got off the enclosed truck I had to stare at it for about half an hour before I dared to sit my first time in an FC (Was a gamble since I am 6,5 and don't fit in most cars lol). The car fit like a glove and surpassed all my imaginations.
I started the project in March, most problems got solved thanks to the great comunity.
Stripped all the interior and cleaned it :P My best friend is a mechanic and "together" we changed and did all lines with steel ones, did the hoses (too many hoses), did the moonroof (its a nightmare), gaskets, brakes, clutch, injectors, coilovers (BC), shifter bushings/spring, Rtek 2.1, fuel pump, gauges (greddy multi d/a), 17"rims, rev tii, eliminated emissions.
Once I get my bnr s3 and a wideband in the mail it is going to be spitting flames on the road again.

I just got my nearly all-stock GXL fully functional (HAS A/C!). It is an AWESOME cruiser. I love DDing this thing and everyday I cant help but be happy with how everything just WORKS! It's a shame so many people gut these and make them ride like *** with coilovers. a nice lowering spring makes it stiff enough in the turns but not ride like a brick down the highway

first of all, i'd like to say i'm kind of a fraud because while i've owned my FC since 2010, i've never once driven it. i've towed it over 1000 miles and i push it in and out of the garage every once in a while, but never driven it. so, i don't know if i'm an FC driver, although maybe i am the definitive FC driver.
anyway, i'm 41. this is my first FC, though i used to drive my sister's FC a lot when she had it back in the late 90s.

I was 22 when I got my first RX-7, now I'm 30. It was an 88 TII, It was a beater by my standards today but it wasn't rusty. I figured it would be good on gas with a 1.3L turbo engine... Since then I have owned 5 RX-7s. Currently I have settled on 2, that original TII and an 89 that I LS1 swapped.
I used to daily the TII back then because it was the only car I had, it used to flood out and almost kill the battery trying to get it restarted, the power windows didn't work and it was just missing a lot of parts. It seems like I was working on it every week just to keep it running. Now in the summer I daily the LS1 swapped GTU that is super clean and everything works, but I still have a new truck as back up if needed.
I was an engineering student back when I got that first RX-7, now I have been an Automotive Engineer for almost 5 years. I can definitely sympathize with some of the younger guys on here. These days my pay is a lot better but it somehow seems like I have less money to spend on the 7s.

I'm 30 and got my FC3C when I was 19, freshman in undergrad for mechanical engineering. Now I'm in engine research with one of the big 3, and the FC is in need of some engine rehab. A coolant seal is gone so coolant leaks into the combustion chamber when the car's been sitting for more than a few hours cooled off, but I still drive it 50 miles to work once or twice a week to keep everything from sticking.
