i am about to paint my vert and cant make up my mind on what color to do, im deciding between white and a darkmetallic gray. if someone coud post some pics or photoshop my car in my sig to either color that would be awesoe, preferably vert pics. thanks for the help guys.

 

if u where lucky enough to have a black car originally, you could change the color and not worry about the engine bay.. but you would have a blue engine bay.

 

white on a vert is strange imo, but its sexy on a hardtop.

black looks good on a vert. dark blue looks good. a somewhat dark red does look good as well.

dark green metallic on my fc. looks beautiful in person... clapton green up top.

Seriously tho everybody does white, I like the dark silver idea.

 

yea im leaning towards the pewter metallic gray. its only 75 a gallon, so 75 bucks and a little labor will be worth it.

 

its more then just the $75 for the paint, there will be primer, reducers, and dont forget the clearcoat over the mettalics.

masking paper, tapes, solvents, wipes, etc.

 

my buddys got a paint booth and they already have all that stuff.

 

I'd suggest removing that glued-on RX-7 badge on the front bumper, whatever color you choose. It looks goofy, IMO.

 

is he stealing the other materials or does he get them for free? either way you got to pay him for the rest of the materials
just saying to budget more then $75 thats all

 

Thats a really nice guy to give you the use of his booth, lots of his time, and at least 200 in materials.

Talk to him first to make sure he doesnt do you a favor by only charging you 300 dollars.

Like the cleanest vert i have ever seen said, "budget more then $75"

$75 for a gallon of mettalic paint is probably paint you dont want to be using- just saying

btw, i still think your black vert is possibly THE sexiest car.

 

White is just horrible, coupe or vert.
Silver/gunmetal is better left to the FD's
Green if you've dropped a bio-diesel in
Brown is well... we'll leave that one to your imagination
Yellow is passable on a coupe, definitely not vert
Red is tolerable on a coupe, not so much vert
Blue is good on either
Black is win.

Maroon or very dark purple



also PPG metallic paints can be $100 a gallon. 1:1 with reducer youre in only $130.
another $70 for Omni epoxy primer, tape plastic and sandpaper is $40. a gallon of clear and a quart of hardener is $100


$340 total in material



Anyways a maroon or purple fc is WIN!!! especially on white wheels

 

mine is Maroon, it's different looks okay.
