Hard to diagnose Engine problem (Ideas wanted)

Looking for some help with a problem I am having with my car. Its a '87 TII pretty much stock. Last november I was driving around and my engine started acting up. The engine became unresponsive to throttle input and the revs started to slowly decrease until the problem seemed to stop. Then like 30 sec later the same thing happened but the revs slowed until the engine stopped, luckily I was still rolling so I bump-started it but the engine died even quicker this time. Since this happened (5 1/2 months ago) I have COMPLETELY gone through the entire fuel system and ignition system. I have tried everything from swapping in different fuel pumps, testing every electrical connection and every relay/switch related to the fuel system and swapping in all new relays. I have pulled the injectors and done a resistance check to make sure they weren't fried. I have even plugged in a new S4 TII ECU. I have also checked the coils and ignitors. Changed the plugs. I know the engine is getting fuel, air and spark but it will not run. It will turn over fine and all the systems seem to work and so far I have found nothing that was actually broken or not working. I have checked several other things too. I do not have a proper compression tester but I did pull a plug and turned it over and it sounds like it has good compression. I have checked the AFM too and tried swapping another one in. So I am pretty discouraged with this thing and not being able to fix it. Has anyone had any of these problems before or fixed anything that sounds like this?? Any ideas and suggestion are welcome and thanks for taking the time to read through my post.
