Hagerty insurance company

I've read about a few FD guys running around with this insurance company so I thought I'd price out an online insurance quote through Hagerty insurance. As of right now I'm covered under AAA and am paying close to $600 a year. Hagerty gave me a quote for $257 per year. Same exact coverage for liability, medical, and uninsured motorists as AAA. My question is, has anyone carrying a policy with Hagerty ever filed an insurance claim for an accident? And how was the customer service regarding the accident? Was Hagerty helpful in assisting or were they hard to reach for claims. I'm not entirely too sure how large this company is and just recently heard about them not too long ago. I'd love to pay $257 for a year of insurance!

I have has them for years and they are very good on paying out claims and services is great. One word of advise if you are insuring the car as a full coverage policy , make sure you take lots of pictures of your ride. They are very ify on those things.

With either liability or full coverage I make copies and save every receipt I ever have for this car. Right down to the title and seller agreement I wrote up when I bought the car 6 years ago. The folder is about an inch thick now. Thank you regardless though. Your input is very much appreciated.

I have grundy- check with them when i took the policy out they were half the price of haggerty.

The car will be agreed value, books of receipts are not really necessary.
I have them for my vert and at one time a TII. One claim which was very easy. It actually doesnt take much to technically total these cars out so if the car is totalled on paper most likely they will not reinsure it because it no longer meets their qualifications so i would suggest trying to get them to insure it for as much as possible.
i have to check my current policy but i think the max they would agree to was $15000. I pay less than $200 a year for this policy.

Progressive referred me to Haggarty for collector car. Actually sent me from their website to Haggarty's. Their price was comparable for my '91 N/A vert. But they didn't want to insure for less than $10K value. I think they also limit the miles you can put each year on your car. I paid less for my car. I went with my house/car policy with Erie. Not much more & far less hassle.

There is no mileage limitations with grundy, but its understood that this is not to be a daily driver, the application process goes over this and the qualifications.

I couldnt put $30k coverage and you cant just request crazy values, this would set up massive fraud opportunities if you could get 2-3 times the value can you imagine how many stolen car claims they would have?

Not entirely sure whether or not I did it right, probably not, but I don't think Grundy is available in my area.

According to my understanding from the online Hagerty quote you're given the option of use for the car IE motorsport/shows/none apply type options.

Its been a while since i applied but you have to send in pictures of the vehicle for approval. Not sure how much they allow i think the motorsports was really intended for vintage race cars but i cant say for sure.

Its best to get in with as much of a stock car as you can adding more cars later is very simple

They are the best in the market. I just try to get a price for my FD using State Farm classic insurance . They could not give me a price till they sent a person to check to car out. In my option , not both with them.

Grundy would not go so high on a FC, wondering why Haggerty allows such a high policy to be written

I provided over $20,000 in brand new parts proof alone.. Also I looked back and I was wrong, It is $521 for 12 months. $43 per month if you break it down that way.

I thought that was crazy cheap for $25k in coverage.
Still surprised they wrote it that high I was always cautious to suggest too many aftermarket goodies out of fear of them not wanting to write the policy.
I should push the issue with Grundy a little more $15k coverage on my car isnt bad but I would really be comfortable with $20k if god forbid its a total loss

those high policies open the possibility for fraud which is why they will only go so high on certain vehicles especially those with basically zero collector status
