had a little fun today..

not 100% FC related but centered around the FC. yesterday i went to the inlaws place where i just so happen to keep a few of my cars and i decided to have a little fun, take some pics of my cars, and continue parting out that old 88 SE. i drove the RX-8 up there and got my 63 Falcon out and took it for a drive, moved my repair in progress ocean blue 85 GS to the repair portion of the garage and had some fun dragging out the SE and turning it over on its side and pulling off everything underneath. all i have left to dismantle after tonight is the front suspension and the dash and front carpet section. anyways, here are the pics:

thanks man. the Falcon was my first car. its got a 170 I6 and a 3spd on the cloumn. yeah, we've got the Deere, so we'll just drag the parts cars around. plus it makes things a lot eaiser when you're turning the ar over. the green FB i'm in the process of fixing though..but for now and since the brakes are a little rusty, i'll move it with the tractor, dragging it by the mangled front.

I thought rx-8's accelerated a little faster than that. I'm kinda disappointed. The deere must help with car work though lol

well, it was a slow start. i got going pretty slowly and then rolled the throttle open. if you launch the car, the take off is much faster.

it had been asked if i would share the story of how i aquired the Falcon. so i figured i'd share my grandfather gave me the car shortly before his passing in 1998. i was 16 and crushed when he died. he was like a father to me so you can imagine the sentimental value this car has to me. before he died, my grandfather took me out and sat me in the car and showed me how to use the "three on the tree". he sat next to me in the car and made sure i got it right. he told me that he would buy me any car i wanted when i graduated high school (within reason of course). he got sick and because he wanted me to have that car he promised, he offered me any car in his driveway. one of which included a 56 chevy 2 door with a 265 V8. i chose the Falcon because it meant so much to me.. it was the last thing about cars he was able to teach me. i want to feel that he respected the decision i had made with the Falcon. i sold the Falcon shortly after high school and regretted the decision ever so much. i sold it to an old timer that restored cars as a hobby..with one condition...he offer me the car first if ever he were to sell it. he called in 2006 and in 2007, i purchased the car back..for a lot more than i sold it to him for..but i cant complain because he restored the body, rebuilt the trans, installed new tires, and body seals, and rebuilt the carb and brakes. i've taken it further by painting the engine bay and installing the decal set in the engine bay and around the body. i'll get more pics of it. for now, here's a thread with more pics:
