That sounds like a 100cc dirtbike.

Let me guess, thin wall tubing and exhaust leaks like a ************? Garbage. Just garbage. My STOCK exhaust with a muffler hacked off and dumped straight to the ground sounds like that rx8....infact, exactly like that rx8. Is it for performance? No. I just did it and it ended up sounding good until i wore holes in it from the car being low. I dont care. I'm not doing a damn thing to it until i'm either turbo or swapped.

I'm glad you decided to go with some sort of muffler. Without any kind of sound correction it will sound like kazoo filled buttholes.

I can vouch that the magnaflow mufflers sound delicious

so i've got a new setup in mind:

Racingbeat Streetable header (titanium heat wraped) into a Racingbeat silencer into a 2.5" magnaflow in/out mid muffler with a stainless steel extension pipe.

^ That won't sound too bad or loud as long as that Magnaflow muffler doesn't melt. I'm not sure what its made out of but if it holds up to the rotary heat it should sound pretty great.

I've been driving a loud exhaust setup for a few years and have never been pulled over even though I've done flybys by cops before at high rpm and WOT. I know my day is coming, I just thought it would have been a few years ago.

However a few months ago I saw a thread about a guy needing a stock exhaust setup again because his RB header to RB presilencer to RB catback was deemed too loud by a Virginia police officer and gave him a fix-it ticket. The morale of the story is that its all about where you live. Maybe its because so many of the other cars around the LA suburban area have modified exhausts too that cops just don't care anymore or might be too overwhelmed with all of them.

No matter what exhaust setup you go with, please upload it to Youtube and link us.

im running mine (for now) open down pipe, and it sounds less shitty then the straight piped ones!

and honestly even with it being open dp, i NEVER have problems with the cops.

we dont emissions or inspections where i live in new mexico so i always go catless.
when i was n/a i had the RB 2-1 headers, RB test pipe, and RB duals, and it sounded lovely!
then i went turbo, and was running RB dp, test pipe and the same duals for a bit. sounded
good, but was too restrictive. so i went single 3''. wasnt ricey at all. very good sound.
AANND then went big turbo, and working on the rest of the exhaust, but its going to be 3''
from turbo back, no test pipe or anything, and 3'' ebay fartcan lol.
dont really care about the sound anymore, just wanna go fast haha

heres the vid for open DP

Turbos significantly cut the sound down.

Buddy of mine had a turbo FC with a catless downpipe to a straight pipe to a Corksport catback.

I have an NA FC with Corksport headers to two 2.5 inch high flow cats to the same Corksport catback and they were at about the same volume level.

Racingbeat Streetable Header (titanium heat wraped) into MOTORIA cat replacement into an APEXI ECV controller into MAGNAFLOW Mini ME into; option 1) stainless steel 2.5"/2.75"/3" extension pipe to passenger side rear exit. option 2) custom y pipe for dual extension pipe with 2.25" piping

If you're N/A, stick with the 2.5 inch exhaust if you're going single exit.

^ Good choices then! I wish I had stuck with 2.5 piping, but Corksport didn't make their 2.5 inch catback when I went to buy one.
