Gear Ratios and redline

I know in the FAQ there are the gear ratios for the FC tranny. But, exactly at what miles do these cars redline from gear to gear. My friend, who once owned a GTU '88 says at 7k RPM, his car is at 40mph, but he doesn't remember what afterwards. Also, I know the turbo's gears are a bit shorter, so what do those gears redline at... I'm just curious to see the difference between S4 gears which redline at 7k to S5 NA gears which redline at 8k...

I believe in my 88 t2 i could bring it up to 42mph in 1st gear, with the fuel cut defender.

Go to Mazdatrix and look in there tranny section for ratios. Use the above calculator to answer your question.

Mine still has the ATX speedo gear so it may not be accurate:
1st: 0mph to 35mph
2nd: 35mph to 65mph
3rd: 65mph to 105mph
4th: 105mph to 137mph
5th: 137mph to ??? (decreasing speed)

If I remember correctly, the top speeds for the S5 NA's were:

1st: 42
2nd: 72
3rd: 103
4th:144
5th: 188

Again, they're not 100% accurate, but I'm pretty sure they're close. But like everyone else said, it depends on your wheel/tire setup.
