fuel filters

hey guys whats up.. i'm not sure if i'm in the right section or not but Id figure I ask anyways.. so i'm in the middle of doing a full tune up and everthing going smoothly besides the regular bugs right.. whatever.. anyone ever changed their intank fuel filter? my seven still buggin with her hesitation and all so I figure before I attack the timing, I'd clean out my injectors and change that filter too.. just wondering if its the same filter as near the engine bay.. any help will be appreciated thanks

its just a sock.
Might be able to buy a new one, otherwise maybe just spray it out with some carb cleaner.
Biggest issue might be rusty screws holding the cover down. Spray them down and let them soak if they are really bad

It is not the same kind of filter as the one near the engine, it's more of a mesh sock looking thing. Some cars have replaceable ones, I don't know if FC's are one of those.

hmmn so if its not replaceable, then can it be cleaned somehow.. the hesitation I feel has to be fuel related if not that than ignition.. because after 3k rpm, it pulls and hard

It should replaceable. I changed mine when i had serious corner hesitation and it solved it. I have a different non-stock fuel pump though. Anyways, it is worth to change that and not very hard. Alot of people neglect these small things.

It's really easy to replace and worth doing. It's easier to change than the other filter because you don't have to get under the car.
