Front diff mount

Well after 105,000 miles the front diff mount finally gave way-

It only took 3 hours to change that and the input shaft seal

I really don't see the need for one. The only time it would be used is when the mount breaks and at that point you need to replace the mount anyway. And if you put pressure on the diff then your risking breaking other components. The mount is rubber to allow for some movement.

I found a good write up with pics when I was researching. If I had the time I would have put one in for sure but I only had a 4 hour window to get the job done or my car was going to sit for another 2 weeks and I need it to get to work. Just use the advanced search up top and search pinion snubber.

Really?????

The snubber is also rubber... To allow for some movement. There is very little to no space between the housing and snubber. (Preloading with washers.) - The pinion snubber is surprisingly, and all too commonly, misunderstood. With a pinion snubber, it's very possible that you may not have broken your front differential mount in the first place.

Do not just look at the pictures... Read a little bit.
