TN A few nice day photos.

We had the first nice day in a few months here a couple days ago so I took a little time detailing the 7s. Pictures were taken pretty quickly in the driveway so they are nothing fancy.

86 GXL, owned it for 3 years ant counting!

-152,500 original miles. Originally Harbor? blue.
-BBS convertible wheels.
-MazdaSpeed Exhaust tips and custom 2 1/5" Y pipe, gutted pre cats, high flow replacement main cat. (sounds great! secondaries work)
-Super custom cut springs (don't be hatin')
-Aluminum hood
-Overall about 180 pounds of weight reduced. I calculate that the car is sitting at about 2450 give or take a few pounds.
-Removed AC and power steering via manual steering.
-CD player with ok sounding aftermarket speakers (of course...)
-Hawk break pads.
-Sport spoiler and rear side skirts.
-Custom intake with authentic K&N filter
-Most emissions removed.
-Manual window and mirror conversion.
-ACV block off plate
-New starter, new alternator, new hydrolics (clutch, brakes), new battery, new spark plugs, change the oil every 2000 miles, functioning OMP with additional 1/2 ounce per gallon premix.
-Series 5 trim and tail lights (might get the bumpers eventually...).
-'95 Honda Accord front lip custom fit.
-sa22c Steering wheel and shift ****.
-Miata short shifter.
-Rhino Liner engine bay.
-Cleaned and wire brushed engine.
-Sport interior, Series 5 rubber center console.

79 SA, owned it for 6 months.

-114,300 original miles, 2000 of which were put on by me.
-Orignal paint.
-Only one small ding.
-Konig wheels. 15x7 205-50-15 / 25mm spacers
-PaceSetter header --> factory reactor back exhaust.
-'83 Nikki and manifold.
-Holley Blue fuel pump.
-Mr.Gasket FPR
-Custom shift ****. I was told it was a dealer option from 30 years ago and was stored for many years and never used.
-Dealer installed Rhino Liner rust proofing.
-All maintenence performed, oil changed recetly, br8EQ spark plugs, new air filter, new fuel filters etc.
-New clutch cylinder, enormous diesel truck battery (will be replaced soon), new alternator.
-AutoMeter oil pressure and coolent temp guage.
-Racing Beat oil pressure sender.

Interior is MINT except for the special duct tape job on the bolster.

Forgot to take an engine shot, doh! Here's an old one for those of you wondering.

not a fan of the bedliner engine bay, but no doubt a clean engine bay.
i see no heater or a/c /power steering.. dunno how you guys can live like that lol

I know your suspension is custom and you say its pretty good, is your springs uprated? its not mushy right? seems like it would be tough to drive.

I like the interior of the SA.

Actually with the little upgrades and what not I've bumped the price to $2500. BUT I haven't had time to update my for sale. I really really don't want to sell it now that I've fixed it all up, but if someone wants to pry it away from me for $2500 or give me an interesting trade I may follow through.

The springs feel just like coilovers to me. Or ground controls. They don't feel mushy AT ALL. They suck ***** going over rough pavement like a construction zone, but cruising around town or on the highway with halfway decent pavement it feels great honestly.

I use Duplicolor rubberized bedliner spray. 2 cans. Then I sprayed Duplicolor high gloss engine enamel over it for a better sheen.

I have a heater, just no AC. I have never used AC. In all of my almost 9 years of driving so I don't miss it.

I also painted the FC myself a couple years ago. Not too bad for a DIY job.

Only thing I had to do to it was remove the turn signal cancel. It was too thick for the wheel to sit firmly. I think the SA wheel enhances steering. It feels easier to spin the wheel since the manual steering was hooked up than the FC steering wheel.

haha what do you know..you posted in second gen and i replied to your first gen one first haha

anyways just wanted to ask if you put a different turn signal cancel in your set up because my fc still has a turn signal cancel and my wheel fits fine but then again...i didn't install it. Previous owner did

I tried using the FC cancel and it did not let the wheel sit flush to the hub. I didn't get an extra SA cancel piece and I didn't want to bastardize my SA and take it off to swap. All you have to do is remember to flip the lever back after you turn.

Those both looks pretty nice. I'm really liking that 1st gen, I keep wanting one more and more these days...

How's the intake on the FC working out for you? Do you notice any difference over stock?

My butt dyno shows that there was a 5 HP loss below 2000 RPM. The exhaust, removing the AC and PS, the lightweight BBS, short shifter, and all the weight reducing more made up for that 5 HP though plus below 2000 RPM is not a crucial zone anyway. Between 2000 - 4000 RPM it feels the same. 4000 - 7300 RPM it feels like I had a 10 HP gain. MPG stays steady at about 20 MPG. I'm thinking about getting a 6 inch straight pipe with a slight downward curve to clear the hood and extending the intake a few for increased velocity. That way it will be about the same length as the OEM intake piping, but without all the ribbing and curving to restrict flow.

I only payed $5 for the rubber plumbing coupler and clamps. $45 for the filter. I needed a new filter anyway so it really didn't cost me anything.

It makes it look clean though!
