thanks guys!!
the interest and support means lots!!
i don't think there will be a DRASTIC change as far as styling goes, but i am looking to build this car up again the way i shoulda started to from the get go... it finally came thru to me that the car is 21+ years old and needs restoration more than it needs modifications. i was also pretty upset with the FC and all the money i spent on it after driving my "raggedy" FD. the FD, even though it needs exstensive work, is just more of a blast to drive than my pig rich running, flame throwing FC. and so i made the decision to give the FC a well needed rest with the dreams of waking it up as a BEAST!! i'm still uncertain about which direction to go about as far as making power goes, as the 13b can do the job just fine, but a 20b... as we all know, will definitely hold it down!!
inspired by this guy (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=794939), i'd like to make this FC "cherry" again. i'd probably be better off getting a lower mileage chassis, but this is my first car and it's got that sentimental crap attached to it
4 years later, and it seems like the project has only begun!!
sure the FD may be more sexy... more "baller"... has more potential to be faster, but to me... FC > FD. now that's love!!

Keep me posted. For a second there I thought this was another thread about someone giving up.
If I were you, I would sell the FD for $$$ to finish the FC off. Take your time though, even if it take years like me.

sup LEXX!! you're so stealth around here, i almost forgot about you!!
i hear ya loud and clear tho... it's definitely going to take QUITE some time to ACQUIRE the parts i want... and meanwhile, i will be "making room" for those parts... i can't wait for the day to have all those parts sitting in one place next to the FC!! *rubs hands together* the day is coming!!
the FC makes for a pretty cool desk at the moment hehe i get the best wireless signal right there!!
i've had this sitting for awhile (can you tell?! haha)... what to do what to do? hehe
12.02.2008 - Current Status
i think there's a thread in this section on the ugliest engine bays... haha could this one be a nominee?
i want to pull the engine and scrub the crap out of the engine bay before 2009.

damn got me gooD!! but i do have a few engine bay shots posted... just not very proud of them
but it should be all gravy once it's running again!!
LOL it's the garage... i'll probably sleep under the car one night for shitsNgiggles!! dude i know there's someone on here on RX7club who converted the front of his FB into a bed though... super awesome!!!
12.10.08 update:
no new pics yet...
been busier than i'd like to be lately prepping for xmas and such. i'm just going to pick a day out of the week and tackle what i can...
by the end of the year, i want the engine out for a rebuild and a clean engine bay.
[rant]
as i stare at the the car in it's current state, i couldn't help but notice my Bride seat.... i find irony that they are called "Bride" and what pops into my mind is "for better or for worse"... and i figure, by purchasing a $600+ seat, i pretty much damn well bought a ring for my car .... might as well go all the way right?!
i'm not surprised to see that this "project" will take longer than anticipated. all i can do is be very patient and hope that things will go into my favor...
for the record, i'm not going to go "all the way" with the car just yet, but i am definitely "on the way"

Car has always looked amazing, definitely one of the most recognizable on the boards. At least in the 2nd gen section, I don't roam much into FD of FB territory.
Super excited to see where this car is going and how the build will turn out. I ask just one thing. Get a nice camera to take pictures of this beauty. Your car is awesome but you always seem to post cell phone pics.
Props again man and good luck.

^ yup yup!! i hope to be mashing out on the track simultaneously witcha!! grrrrr.... i can't help but wait!! hehe
thanks for your very kind words! they definitely "fuel the flame" and push me further into the project... hehe here's another camera phone picture for ya
got off my lazy butt last night and removed the top portion of the engine. before doing so, i was fooling myself into believing the job would be boring/fustrating one... yet, i found it to be fun and addicting!! one bolt after another, i was more and more into what i was doing.... hehe i surely hope scubbing and cleaning the engine bay is just as fun though!! after last night, i definitely started believing more into transforming my Fugly engine bay into fairly clean one... all it takes is time
i plan on pulling the engine SOOOON... i was wondering how heavy is this 13B? am i really going to need a cherry picker??

*******.
ePH C freak, so what are the new plans? I think you will be very happy after restoring the rest of the car. A cleaned and repainted engine bay and a good solid recoated underside give good piece of mind knowing that you won't have to worry about caked up goo and rust for quite a while.
If that's a ring, what the **** did I buy my car? I think I bought her a house before even moving in with or marrying her...

^ right on... thanks for thee advice!!
ohhhhh... i'm gonna need that haha!
you said it!!
well to "spill the beans" a little, i'll be going half bridge with a dual BB GT35R. i'll also be re-doing the drivetrain, suspension, paint, and touching up the interior... also a possibilty of going vmount...
my "theme" for this project will be balance.
as for your car Juiceh... it is just INSPIRING!! love the originality and the quality of work and parts!! can't wait to see pics of it on the streets!!
