Cyborgs Vmount made it to my REW FC

So I ended up buying Cyborg Ryu's Vmount setup to use in my REW swap.
Needed a bit of modifying, bu overall I think its turning out pretty good.
I just need to figure out the hot side piping and the upper rad hose.
Not sure if he shipped it like this or if UPS messed it up, but the cold pipe coming off the IC is pretty dinged, oh well!
Its now bolted/welded in fully, the picture was taken half way through.

The hotpipe has the BOV flange on it, as name suggest, is hot b4 the intercooler, no sense in blowing out cool air after its passed thru the IC, so id put it on the turbo side but looks like you cant unless you modified the piping, which im assuming you wont.

That is the cold pipe with the BOV flange. You want the BOV near the throttle body, it is much more effective there.

lol @ the driver side IC outlet. Yeah that looks pretty dinged up, exhaust shops have a tool that can round it out though. They do it after crush bending pipes.

+1 b4 the ic is def the wrong place to do it. u will be letting it out late and more possibly hurting the turbo

it makes more sense to have it closer to the TB, ur vac source is coming from b4 the TB and u should have that vac line as short as possible to quicken the response time. <based on what ive learned

looks pretty sweet and it's exciting to see the REW setup in the 2nd gen!

judging by the two cone filters, you are running the stock twins? did they give you any problems as far a spacing is concerned? i'm going the same route!!

i'd love it if you posted some vids of it running!!

Here's a video of when it was jimmy rigged (battery is just chilling there lol) and the TPS was all out of whack so when I applied throttle, it just died.
All my sensors are good now, so once I get my rad hoses and oil lines worked out, Ill give some nice rev's an such.

As far as the air filters go, Im not too concerned (and I have no other options until I go single)

Haven't completed the full setup yet, I ran out of cash. Soon though I hope.
Not much detail to explain. The radiator is in a bracket which is welded to the frame, and the intercooler is bolted to where the hood latch is and the other side is resting on the radiator.

You can take any radiator in and get a shop to re-weld the end tanks to make plumbing easier, but getting pipes bent/rubber couplers work too.

Frame looked sketchy to me at first, but I can put my weight on it and have it not budge. I'll also be adding a skid plate just for peace of mind

hmmm i see, well after reading this i went ahead and found some plywood to fab up ducting and mounting to sketch outlines to cut aluminum sheet all at one shoot. how thick is the intercooler?? are you worried about heat soaking in traffic?

Naw, Im not to concerned. I'm in on that Panspeed hood buy and will probably add a puller fan too. The intercooler is like 3" I believe.

Umm wrong!

THE bov is better to be on the hot side piping, most race cars that run high boost and all oems run it this way and ill explain why. when the throttle plates close with the bov on the hot side, all the cold side piping also exits. when the bov is on the cold side only the pressurized air closest to the bov and throttle exits. where does all that hot side pressure go you ask? usually through the intercooler but not making it out the bov, and some times thru the turbo due to the surge the closed throttle plates made as they shut. anybody want to disclaim me read corky bell's book or the old turbo system engineering books floating around amazon. not flaming just trying to help.

I only have one question:

I wanna know where those damn 13B-REW engine mounts are available for purchase!

I've seen a site that had custom mounts to fit into the FC but I can't find it anymore.

WHERE IS IT?

But, from what I've heard, you're better off making your own. Something about those not being the optimal design or something. I remember seeing a thread on TeamFC3S a long time ago about it.

EDIT: http://forum.teamfc3s.org/showthread...ght=13b+REW+FC Some very good info in there
