its very hard to have a rough cut steel edge, I also looked at a Evo scoop at one time with the intention of grafting it onto a NA hood

So is it functional?

/\ win.

yes, my fan kicks in later during my drive home and stays on about half the time it usually does. I can just see the heat come pouring out. It seems to have more hp but that could just be my imagination.

Also the air filter would get wet. I'm rerouting it underneath the headlight possibly. But as of now i do not drive this car in the rain..

I'd be curious to see data logs of temps.

Here would be a good way to clean the look up, just run ducting up to the vent from the rad. http://jspec.com/typenvent.html

This reminds me of the hood scoop I made when I did my turbo swap. Everyone gives me ****, but **** em. It works. + works well. Probably better than stock since it's a bit bigger.

Now with that said, yours looks a **** ton better than mine. I just plan on getting an aluminum na hood.

Good stuff! If the air filter is exposed to cooler air, then yes you probably are making more HP...

I need to start cutting up my hood, this is motivational!

If someone still sell these out there, it would be much easier than what you went thru.

I'm sure the idea was to expose most of the radiator, thus the reason fo grafting two evo vents. So that wouldn't do what I think he was going for, that's just my thought.

Besides the aftermarket hoods, some of our members are creative :

For some reason, I have images of your fan misting your windshield like a sonuvabitch in the rain and it makes me giggle like a Japanese school girl.

I think when he goes back in & cleans it up, maybe mold in the EVO duct & paint it will look pretty good. The fact that he made due with what he had not bad IMO.
