lift up your carpet where the spare tire goes. There should be mounting holes near the tail lights and where they meet the license plate holder. One on each side. Not too sure if they have holes if your car didn't have the straps to begin with or not but that's where they are located.

I'm sorry? I was under the impression all FCs came stock with the cargo tie-down straps. You should have slits in your cargo hatch carpet. The mounting points are directly under those.

do they mount under the plasic covers for the hatch latches in the back? or do they mount on the bottom?

The rear mounts are actually part of the spare tire well and are mounted via a ~10mm Bolt i think. Does that answer your question?

Like its not mounted horizontally but vertically, you have to remove the carpet covering the wheel well. If you don't understand I can take pictures.

i should be able to find it. i wasnt sure if it was on the vertical part or not.
