Black or red

After getting renewed interest in my 7. I decided to buy another one. I will now have a red 87 TII and a black 88 GXL with 5 lug and 4 piston calipers swapped already (amongst other mods). I am going to make one car out of the two. Should I go black or red and why.

I am leaning towards black but that would require moving wiring and guage cluster from the red one.

S4 GXL's already had 5-bolt and 4piston calipers stock

I'd stick with the TurboII shell and re-paint it.

Unless the GXL shell is in better condition use the TII, it'll make things easier.

Red does look good but I see them a lot. Plus since it's an S4 the side mouldings are black and stand out against the red. Once I get the GXL I can make a more informed decision. Was just wondering what color everyone likes better.

I can't stand color changed cars (unless it's done completely). So much work to get the whole car changed to another color. So many nooks and crannies to worry about ... door jams, under the hood, it's enough to drive me nuts worrying about it.

Not a perfectionist, but I would stress about it...Although, I am bothererd by the fact my fridge isn't the same BRAND as the rest of the appliances.

unfortunately the red one is in the garage and doesn't move so easily. here is what I have though.

completely stock S4 TII

if you want some more info on the cars the red one has 240,000 miles Blown beyond salvage engine missing drivers seat, drive line, drivers front fender has dent along bottom and some ugly looking frame rails..

as for the black one I have been told it has Eibach pro kit springs, Tokico shocks, Short throw shifter, s5 tails, "JDM" 3 point front strut brace with torque dampener, and stainless steel brake lines.

On a side note are the 4 pot calipers made by "brembo"?

Both have interior problems but they are same color so I can make one of the 2 ... black car has better interior of the 2.

anything else you want to know just ask

Honestly, they both look pretty brutal.

At this point, I'd use the best chassis, then make one car out of both of them.

Looking at the pics of the black one I think the mouldings are already from an S5. I really don't like the black strip down the side of the red car. I would change that asap and of course S5 tails would go on as well. I think once I see or get pictures of the black car. I will be able to make a more informed decision. I was mainly looking for feed back on is it worth it to move the rear end and tranny from the TII to the gxl or move every thing from the gxl.
