bike rack?

Anyone find a bike rack that will work with the RX7, FC chassis?

I can fit my bike in the hatch with the front wheel removed but then I have to slide the pass seat all the way forward and my passengers have to sit upright to ride with me. Its just not practical to have my bike with me and have a passenger in the car.

I'd like to find a bike rack, either roof mount or the "trunk" style mounts that will work with the FC. The thing I'm worried about with the universal trunk style mounts is accessability to the hatch with the bike rack mounted. Im also wondering how secure the rack will mount onto the back of the FC and will the straps be long enough to grap the top of the rear glass.

Anyone find use any bike racks on their FC?
Pics and info are welcome
(I did a search but all results were 3 years old or longer)

If you were to get some kind of bike rack for an FC I think the best option would be one of those ones that bolts to the trailer hitch(Hitch Mount) and holds the bikes upright behind the vehicle. I guess you would need to get an FC trailer hitch. Yes they exist.

You got a sun roof, i doubt any company has ever made one..

Bike racks look kinda cool though if you actually use it.

The rack I had hung off the back of the car. I could carry 2 bikes w/o taking them apart.

Maybe if you take like the front wheel off, it'd fit in the hatch...

Hatchback FC not so sure, convertible FC on the otherhand that's a whole another story. Any rack for a sedan works for the vert, a bit iffy if a sedan rack will work for the hatchback, however i don't see why it wouldn't, it would just look a bit awkward ya know?

Oh yeah, I'm still rockin the hitch from the p/o
The only problem is that when they hauled bikes, the pedals put a bunch of swirl scratches in the wing

if you'll read the Original Post you will see that the bike DOES fit in the hatch with the wheel off, but it makes it completely impractical. The front seat has to be slid all the way up to fit. If I want a friend and I to take our bikes somewhere to ride, the seat is super uncomfortable to sit in and fitting the 2nd bike would be a huge pain...IF it would fit a second bike.

The only hitches Im finding for the FC are class1 which is the ball type hitches, not a receiver. If I could find one with a receiver, that would be great, but so far, no luck.

class one with 1 1/4 hitch is on ebay with a square opening and then you can use one of the many 1 1/14 bike racks

Many parking lots, ie: Colleges, are far from campus, and walking to class usually takes 10-20 minutes. A bike can get you around quicker from the parking lot.

I use a skateboard, but it's not as fast as a bike, and I have to dodge people

I used to ride BMX (for 8 years +) but when I got my FC and I tried to start back riding out of the blue, I would cram my bike into my old 1991 coupe. It worked but I had to finesse it. Nothing beats throwing it in the back of a truck with disregard of where it lands. lol.

There would be no way in hell I would put pretty much anything in my TII's cargo area now a days. lol.
