Best looking FC's EVER! Thread
The verts look SO much better then the hard top FC's. The more I look at them the hard top/hatch back FC's look like a STATION WAGON....throw some groceries back there and BAM your good to go!
They almost remind me of how the Aerocoupe Monte Carlo SS looks -VS- the Reg Monte SS. The domed glass hatch from a side profile veiw just doesnt follow the body line at all.
here is my point:

Did Mazda steal that look from Chevy????? LMFAO.... Does that look weird to you..or is it just me???
that looks weird because it was originally a coupe.. does not apply to FC in my opinion
I think your just playing favorites because you own a vert.
FD has similar roof design, as well do alot of other cars, most noticeably the corvettes
FC was also a 2+2 so that could take as to why it has such large b-pillars compared to the other sports cars
plus its from the 80s, the age of the looks is starting to take its toll.

The 2+2 …… you make a good point. I use to own a coupe GTUs (my first car) and didn’t really like verts, but they have grown on me a lot since I have had mine.... I was more less joking about the comparison between the Monte SS’s, although I believe it is a good comparison based on looks. If Mazda thought that an out of proportion look was HOT, instead of re-designing the body for the verts they would have just make the rag top stretch back to the coupe design, they knew the hatch glass looked goffy…and had to do better on the verts. I don’t know if you have ever pulled apart a vert..but the whole body from behind the seat back is completely different….I was thinking about a 2+2 vert = no way in hell.
^ I disagree 100%.
Vert's are hot but in no way does the hatch look goofy. Mazda didn't design the vert to make up for the coupes lack of style. They created the vert to further expand the market of the Rx7. Everyone's entitled to their opinion I suppose.

owning both versions I can tell you that both coupe and vert are nice in thier own ways, the nice thing about a vert is that it actually looks good with the top up, even though I own both I actually find myself thinking with the top down it looks sort of oddish- maybe because im used to seeing it with the top up all the time.
F' it, im putting my own in here

A bit of a contrast from what's been posted so far, but IMO, a clean stock body car looks just as good as any kitted/extensively modded car.

I forgot where I found this one, but it's very sexy
