I had to take off my fender and cut a small bit off of it. Part of the fender blocks where the hinge meets the chassis.

Natural selection. Everyone has been warned. 6-7 years ago when this first came up on RX-7 club it was referred to as the "decapo-hood". I've never seen an example of this happening but I certinly won't be the first.

if your that worried about getting decapo'd in a crash why not just upgrade to stronger grade bolts or put pins in your hood.......
kind of reminds me of how they tell people bezelbub will come out of your muffler and choke you to death and your cars wiring harness will fry and it will rain frogs because you put sleepy eyes on your supra......
some people will say anything to detur you from doing it because they dont agree with how it looks basically...
its not about look, its about function just like sleepy eyes...but alot of people dont understand that or the real purpose it serves,
personally i dont see how that hood would make it past the pillars, and if your going that fast to buckle the hood bad enough to bust the bolts chances are you just killed the person in the other car.......

^yeah, remember, modding cars isnt for everyone. Lowering your car has the risks of busting it up,esp with bodykits. Or just like upgrading your parts decreases value lol

I really dont think hood risers are ricey. I had them on my cressida just made some riser out of wrist pins and i pretty much instantly noticed a difference the engine felt peppier, didnt tick as bad and just seemed to run a lot happier. And even if they are ricer i say **** it and run em because the facts are they do reduce engine bay temps. Form over function. Especially when youre driving your car hard and especially with a smoking hot rotary. I do think it is better to cough up the money and buy a real hood vent but living in the pacific northwest it rains 3/4 of the year so we dont really get the pleasure of hood vents so hood risers are a good way to go around here

If you can't afford .05 washers, I feel like that may be a good indication of the rest of your cars future and build quality.
