I had a straight pipe to single Apexi N1. It was insanely loud and I got pulled over multiple times.

Even with a full cat and pre cat, its suuper loud. I would go pre-silencer.

Damn really? past 4k rpms it really screams. I managed to fail a CA sound test because i hit 97dB at 5250rpm.

I am surprised the single cat-back is quieter... what size piping/tip?

@KidA

If you want obnoxiously loud, straight pipe to APEX'i will do the job nicely. Get headers if you really don't like your ears.

It's the new N1 Evo with a built in diffuser. Piping is: 65-70-85

i drove the car with the stock cats and no cat back, then hooked up the N1 dual, and it made NO difference in the sound of the car. it does look cool though.

It all depends if you're turbo or non turbo. A turbo straight piped is do-able, whereas an N/A straight pipe will make ears bleed.
