^ actually i paid $50 lmao. but it needed EVERYTHING replaced!and i mean everything! ( blown motor, no reverse, locked up diff, no pass door, had been sitting in the wood without aforementioned door so the interior was shot, harnesses were all cut up, fenders were in the hatch area and one was missing all the metal below the trim still hav no clue why... , plus misc. small things that were broke or missing) all in all i say i came out pretty good since i barely have 2k in it now

i got my '89 GXL for free, added a bottle of block seal and flushed the cooling system, been running fine for 4 years now. has a salvage title and needs some LR quarter panel work but still. oil seals are finally starting to go along with the clutch but no complaints. also got my old '87 SE for free, just took a few hours of working the engine loose with MMO since it was siezed, ran fine as my DD for a year before i sold it. FCs are cheap, anyone who thinks they can get 10k or more even for a mint low mile one is crazy.

I love seeing the original window stickers for these cars. It is interesting that Mazda listed the '89 GTU as having a "black velour" interior. I would describe the more velvet-like upholstery of the S5 GXL as being velour, but the GTU seats seem like more of a tweed. Also interesting that Mazda thought that the digital clock and left-side dead pedal were features worth mentioning on the window sticker. I do remember a time when having a clock in your car was sort of a luxury item.

Hey rotordad, thanks for posting your window sticker. What was the "silent pack?" Some kind of extra sound deadening?
I see your original Mazda dealership was identified as "51026." Is there some resource on-line for figuring out what Mazda dealership equated to a particular number? I'm trying to figure out exactly where my RX-7 was originally delivered. The Mazda dealer ran the VIN and came up with a printout that included a bunch of info including the dealership number, but didn't identify it by name or city. Just "Dealer #34403, State of Texas."

Not sure what the hell the "silent pack" is to be honest. I wouldn't know where to look for that info on original delivery location. I have the window stickers for one of my 83's & my 88 somewhere in the garage I'll have to look at them to see what the load & dealer #'s mean.

my S4 TII had the option of no power steering. the a/c bracket is basic and has no place for the p/s idler pulleys or mounting for the pump. i suppose they were for the people who wanted more positive feel for performance driving versus the auto adjusting power steering system. it's only a pita while moving slow like to and from parking spots. didn't have a cd player either.
