aftermarket pedals

My stock ones are beat to ****. I want something new. And I'd prefer them to be a bit longer/bigger than stock because of my size 13 shoe. So just wanted to see what other people have and what they can recommend me. Also as far as aftermarket pedals go, most are bolt on via the stock pedal holes?

alot of them are just covers that slip over the stock ones with a bracket that holds them over.

Dont bother!!

Plus bigger is not better with big feet, means your more likely to push 2 pedals at once.

Best bet just replace with second hand items, or replace the rubber.

Without a full racing pedal box replacement the aftermarket pedals just bolt on the existing pedal, (most european countries have banned these!)

I have a set from here: http://www.autovationparts.com/store/mazdarx-7.html

They actually replace the stock rubber ones. But you have to drill holes in the pedal assemblies to install them. I'll try to get a pic later today.

I have a set from Autovation and am extremely happy with them after a year of use. My girlfriend also has em in her '99 Miata and she is also pleased with the fit and finish.

+1 for autovation pedals, and btw the whole idea is pushing two pedals with one foot at once....actually 3 pedals with two feet to be more acurate......

I have these autovation pedals and LOVE them:

They did a Group buy on here a while back. I'm sure if you contact them and can drum up enough interest they would be willing to run another.

Anyone with the autovation pedals. How is the size compared to the stock pedals? I have some clamp on ones that came with the car and I hate them. Everytime I get in the car I get my shoe hung on them. I never had that problem with the stock pedals in my old seven.

For the gas pedal, get some plate metal from a hardware store, and trace out a pattern you like onto it... then cut it out with a band saw and bend to the approriate angle, drill holes, and bolt on. You can even make them adjustable by drilling a slot instead of a hole, or just making multiple holes.

Extra points for adding a non-stick coating... you can get some black Plasti Dip, mix in some grit (per the can's instructions), and coat the pedals with that.

The stock brake pedal works fine with no cover, and just some non-slip coating on it. Same is true for the clutch pedal.

I bought these when I was 15 and still a bit ricey. I got them to so I'd have a little more grip than the stock pedals w/ no rubber, and they do that just fine (even though they're about the same size). Your shoes have to be super dry though, or they'll slip like crazy. And I got them for under 40 bucks, so...

And that was before the black interior install.

Some pedals out of a Mazdaspeed Miata would be kinda cool.

You can get a set here:

Here are mine, direct fit, if you pull off your rubber ones you will see there is a hole at the top and bottom and thats what these bolt too.
Just need the brake and clutch-

my car came with some metal pedal covers. they were ridiculously slippery anytime my shoes were even slightly wet. so into the trash they went.

I have Razo pedal covers, and I frickin love em, put em on all my cars. They are super grippy, and have never come loose or anything! Very high quality. Although I do like those rotor shaped ones. But the Razos are easy to get, not that pricey, and a great product!
