Stock Air box “ram” delete?

I keep seeing these FCs that have the actual box of the stock air box but they took of the stock air box ram? is there a reason for that or is it just for more ease of access for the engine bay and they put it back on later?

Typically, the only reason those parts are taken off is due to an aftermarket radiator install. Most aftermarket radiators sit too high and the air box tube doesn't fit. The other reason would be someone took it off and then lost it
