Recaro fixed back seating quality

I've been asking around and searching on other car forums for reviews on the Recaro Forza Sport FIA approved fixed bucket seat. It comes for a good price and I figure that I will get as much as I pay for when it comes to car seating. That being said I wanted to know if anyone has personal experience here that they could share on this particular seat and the level of comfort that it offers, how much better it will hold me in place vs. stock GXL seats, and how well the seat actually fits in an FC its one thing to take measurements and calculate head room (I have a sunroof as well :/) but another thing completely to actually plant your bottom and drive. I'm 5'9 and about 175lbs. Thanks!

Do you perhaps mean the Corbeau Forza Sport FIA racing seat?

I had the first gen Corbeau Forza Sport FIA (bottom mount only) in my FC in 2000 and liked them.

I was about your size and they were very comfortable to me since I had some muscle and fat on my back.
My heavy but skinny (tall) friends thought they were uncomfortable because with the steel tube construction they have a wire spring back construction that rubbed against their bony backs.

They have rather high side bolsters (tubes) and a springy bottom that sags so I found they held me in very well.

I had to re-route the stock seat belts and thread them through the lower outboard slots to make the seat belts work safely as the side bolsters will hold the belts off of you.

I had to show passengers how to bring the seat buckle through the inboard slot into the receiver to get safely buckled in.

Mounting is always a challenge in the FC.
Left hand (US Dr.) side is easy as the mounts are level and you can get the seat low. For bottom mounting on stock rails I just used short pieces of metal on all 4 corners with the fronts bent up as "S" shape to get some more height.

Right hand side is a challenge as the inboard seat rail is quite a bit higher than the outboard side because the floor is humped up for the exhaust. With different bends of metal I was able to get the seat level and same angle as Dr side, but the height was a bit higher.

If you go with side mounting instead of bottom mounting, on the Right side you may have to flip the inboard bracket around so the "L" shape faces the opposite of "L" and the outboard side the same opposite of "L" to get the seat offset to the outside and down lower to the floor.
