So i just picked up an all original 89 na gxl and my plan was to just use the shell, but it turns out the motor ran and has decent compression so im going to use this one if i can. I reset the timing (it was off from old owner) got new spark plugs and a new leadin coil pack (old one gave no spark), new injectors, changed the oil and filter and put new gas. It turned on fine and idled at about 1500 which is fine for now probably the tps is off. But it wont rev passed 3-4k im hoping its the cat because the entire exhaust system is trash and when i went to deflood it, the plugs had oil on them and were already carbon filled. It does not overheat, it maintains oilpressure, what else could it be? Im just trying to save another fc here thanks
