Mazdaspeed Phone-dial Wheels

Found a set of these on eBay that I bought. Was wondering what information is out there about them. I’ve done some extensive googling and have only ever found a few mentions of them that didn’t go into any detail. Literally a Mazda parts brochure and one picture of a silver set is all I’ve seen. I even emailed Mazda themselves and they weren’t able to help. If there isn’t any information I’ve included what I know about them. So if anyone has anything at all about them I’d love to know, not just for me but as a source for the whole FC community.

What I (think) I know-

They are Mazdaspeed and made for the FC.
I’ve managed to find a picture of them in a 1986 JDM parts brochure (photo below).
My set was made on 05/87
They are directional just like the Sawblade wheels we got in the US.

Size-
15in
Other info can be seen in the attached pictures of the back.

Wow, those are really cool. You could check with this dude: https://www.facebook.com/jdmpartsrupewrecht

He knows lots about old-school mazdaspeed stuff and obscure JDM wheels in general.

I agree that those wheels are amazing!! I've never seen a set in person, only in pictures! Definitely an amazing set of vintage wheels. Nice score on those!

I did get an email back. They apparently came in both 14 and 15 inch. They came on the FC as well as the 626 and 323 at the time. He said he had only seen about a dozen sets ever. Pretty interesting Mazda made such a rare OEM wheel.

I did get a message back, sorry for the delay posting the info here, I got a bit busy.

They came in both 14 and 15 inch, and were available on the 626, 323 as well as the FC. He said he had only seen about a dozen sets over his time in the business. Honestly it’s pretty interesting Mazda made such a rare OEM wheel.

edit: slow internet, didn’t think the first one posted but looks like it did. Trying to figure out how to delete the copy.

I do recall those wheels from the 626. One of my very good friends bought a 1984 626 4D hatchback, it was a very nice car for the time. I've never seen those on any FC, but they sure do look great in the pics.

Put one on the car to see how they look. Can’t wait to get them refinished and some tires.

did you ever get those set up? I really like those a lot. It’s been a few years but if you’re still active I’d love to see some pictures of them in action, I can’t find any other ones online and I’ll be looking to buy my own set as soon as some go online for sale. Those are sick. I’ve got the 8 hole ones for early 87’/88’ and the 4 lug holes are ugly those aero wheels are sick though.
