Let's generally discuss FCs

I spent a good portion of last year trying to weatherproof my Z...it can be quite frustrating.
I do not have a vert but given your description, the likely troublespot would be the b-pillar area, where the door, rear quarterpanel and roof meet.
I'd strip out the interior, get inside and have your assistant spray the car with a hose.
Despite my "likely" guess, resist the temptation to focus too closely on where the water comes out. The trick is finding where it comes in.
In my case, the well behind the seats was filling with puddles but the actual ingress point was the top front edge of the door. Water flowed down the front of the door to the rocker, followed the doorseal/rocker trim plate past the seat and finally emerged at the back of the door.
Once I'd formulated a theory, I tested by cramming closed cell foam into different parts of the door>fender joint and hosing down until I found exactly where the problem was.
Turned out to be a rubber flap-type thing that appeared fine but was not pliant/springy enough to seal...of course, it is totally invisible when the door is closed and the fault wasn't obvious.
tl:dr is:thanks for the input ill look into it keep you posted thanks!
Strip interior and spray
Just because a seal looks good, don't assume it works

I did strip the interior and checked every section on both areas couldn't find any wrong, my guess is the top itself due to the fact that is on both sides same area, may be the drain pockets or guard channel, ill keep digging thanks for the input is appreciated keep you posted thanks!

i don't get why people like verts, they leak water, they are noisy, they don't look exceptionally well with the top up, they're heavy, they don't handle exceptionally well, they're more of a pain in the *** than a coupe in parts, the top lasts only a few years in the elements and if you roll one you can kiss your *** goodbye.
but i guess nothing beats having your hair flap in your face while some chick is looking at your 80's rockstar hair and wondering who your stylist is.

I don't hear any noise while driving my 91, it looks good, I like it heavy better stability on the road, for the handling I have a complete suspension system set up, the top is the original 25 yrs old and yes it leaks but is gonna get fix, and in case of rolling over, thats why I go the track to cure myself in my 3/4 chassis starlet at 7.03 secs 1\4 mile, with a 13b 80cc cosmo engine! Hope after this you can change your mine about how people like RX7 convertibles. Thanks!

Jeez this turn into some kind of vert haters club?
When i left my car outside what i found was if i were to close the drivers door with the window down a little then from the passenger side roll the driver window back up. This would allow it to seal better, almost where it didnt leak. I tried adjusting the window 3-4 times but just couldnt get it to sit like it would if you rolled it up with the door closed. When you have to scrape ice from INSIDE the windows thats when you know its time to stop driving it in the winter lol
If your car leaks worse on the passenger side well you get the idea
If both sides leak try to keep the car under a car cover
Either way pop the plugs out the floor under the carpet so you dont get too much of a puddle in there.
After years of water dripping the floor was amazingly clear of any rust. A small dehumidifer left running inside the car keeps it from getting stinky

bah you vert haters have to drive one .. daily.. forever.... then you'd still hate it
for me its like being on my bike, i can see in all directions of traffic and can work on my tan at the same time.
ben what you mean they handle worse then coupes?? you're crazy! yeah they're heavier but that weight bring the center of gravity down several inches. i think the vert handles better!
i've had my fare share. however i dont live close to any real tracks so ... what do i know.

My 91 handles stability real nice, have racing beat sway bars front and rear, eiback coils, staggs shocks toe eliminator ect...with just some moderate mods not going overboard, the lady handles real good. And believe me I punish that 13b hard you can hear the wastegate screaming, and the lady handles like a champ! So please don't be a hater!!! Joe

All the useless **** people post here and not one dude ever posted a picture of his super stiff car tetering the wheels off the ground
Yes a vert flexes to the point it NEEDS a soft roof, **** my windshield has popped out a few times backing out of the driveway lol
Lol, sell that crap elsewhere

Wondering, how you make the chassis more rigid? By adding chrome moly? Please let me know how can both series be equal! Remember adding steel defeats the purpose of stock chassis. Would like to know!
