Recently acquired a 1988 s4 turbo 2 roller. I dont feel like waiting around looking for a usdm s4 motor and was considering a jdm motor transmission swap. Does anyone have any experience or know of any threads on this swap? What needs to be changed over?

 

you should do some searching, there are lots and lots of threads.

basically the engine goes right in, the big difference is the ECU and harness. the S4 and S5 aren't compatible. its best if you use the one the fits the car, or some aftermarket thing.
