help identifying intake part

Hi all, i’m in the middle of putting the intake back together and getting all the fuel trails and rats nest back on my 90 gxl. i found this sitting in my stack of intake parts and for the life of me i can’t remember where it goes/what it’s for. if anyone has any thoughts they would be greatly appreciated!

That is a one way valve for the ACV. At least it looks like the one in my s4.

ever played with those bins with boxes and squares as a kid? on the lower intake there's a small lip under the ACV, try seeing if it fits in that hole.

That diagramed valve fits in hole in the side of the lower intake manifold. The air control valve bolts in place on the lower intake manifold over top of the valve and has a machined section specifically for the valve to rest into when the ACV is bolted in place.

on another note, i don't remember the last time i saw one of those check valves that clean. must have been super low mileage on that engine.

thanks guys! i’ll pull the lower back of and put that back in there (already put the lower on no wonder i couldn’t find where it goes). it had 91k when it lost a coolant seal. it sat for like 15 years so i wasn’t too surprised the seals were going out.

you don't have to remove any manifolds. the ACV sits on the side of the lower intake just above the exhaust and is really easy to access.
