FC3S Tie Rod Query - affecting camber??
Hi All,
Couldnt find anything on here close to what im after so ill make a quick thread.
After months of not being able to find a decent mechanic to do a quick check on my s4, i finally found a guy who came with recommendations from mates of mine.
He did a general service and retune, and now the engine feels better, but while it was there i got him to fit tie rods for me as mine were flogged.
Now, the car has pretty bad toe out (he told me to get a wheel alignment, and im not too fussed about this) but im really concerned as my wheels now rub on coilovers ive installed.
this metal on metal contact actually meant i didnt notice the bad toe, out until i put 5mm spacers on it, and its a miracle i was able to drive home from his workshop.
My real question is just this -
Would too much toe out, affect the camber on my wheels? they didnt rub before, and now it seems that my rx8 rims are rubbing directly on the coilovers.
this metal on metal contact really freaks me out tbh.
any advice welcome.
cheers fellas.
PS - will get a wheel alignment soon enough and let yous know if this was the cause or if it were something else. not too familiar with fc3s suspension geometry.

tie rods shouldn't affect the wheel clearance, more likely there is a spacer that is mixed up or something like that

thanks for responses,
installed coilovers maybe 3-4 months prior to tie rods being touched.
could there be anything else that would affect the clearance between coilover and wheel?
thanks

Thanks all,
Got a wheel alignment and problem still persisted.
Spoke to wheel alignment guy and he suggested the use of an eccentric bolt on the coilover mount, which has given me 6-8mm more clearance than before.
still no clue as to what caused this.
dont really care anymore, as long as i get to go for a fun drive
again, thanks all for input
