Alternator Not Charging
Alternator Not Charging
I've swapped 5 brand new alternators, all of them failed to charge the battery. I've tried to bypass L terminal (w/b wire) to the positive battery terminal in order to excite the alternator, but nothing changed, still reading 12.3 volts. I'm measuring voltage directly at alternator and not just at the battery. I've already read countless threads on this issue over the past 6 months, I've got nothing, please help<3

1) Is your battery fully charged and in good shape with good connections?
2) Is your belt tight?
3) Do you have battery voltage (12.6 volts with a healthy battery and no surface charge) on the B and R terminal with the key ON, engine OFF?
4) Do you have 1-3 volts on the L terminal with key ON engine OFF?
5) Does your idiot cluster warning light(s) come on? If not, check the bulb...
6) Check ROOM and ENGINE fuses.
