1986 gxl rx7 project

I recently bought a non running rx7 its 86 gxl pretty high mileage, 232,000 im fairly certain years ago the engine was rebuilt but not certain have no proof, the cars in pretty rough shape but not bad considering I paid 700 bucks for it, I bought it as a parts car for my other fc but im curious of getting it running before stripping it out. Ive pulled the plugs on put some oil in the plug holes and spun it over, engine freed up nicely and will crank over quite well. It has spark and has fuel (not sure if the fuel is bad) I was told it last ran about a year ago gas in it probably isn't great and I believe previous owner had tried to start it, engine seemed very flooded so ive pulled the plugs and fuel pump fuse after putting oil in it and ive cranked it over to try and unflood it, I believe its pretty heavily carbon built up and im curious if theres any advice on cleaning it out since it wont start? or where to go from here? Im not certain how the compression on the motor is I plan to test it soon and see but I would really like to get it to start any advice is helpful, Im thinking of putting some seafoam in the plug holes spinning it over and letting it sit and see if itll help.
